Both have plugins for phpBB, could you install one of them?

Care to explain a bit more? I guess most of us don't have clue what forunrunner or tapatalk are, and knowing that they have plugins for phpBB does not make them instantly desirable.
I know I could google it search for it on DuckDuckGo, but a small description of what those plugins are and why you want them would be very welcome as you are the initiator of the request.

Yes, they are mobile apps (ios & android). They are free and require very little setup. It would be nice to post & read from a phone

I find I can read and post from my phone just fine. I am using it at the moment with no issues, and I always get annoyed when a forum bugs me to install Tapatalk. So I would prefer it to be left as is.

AFAIK-- that is a site setting, it can be turned off

What phpBB version is in use? AFAIK the latest versions have better small-screen support - at least, the official phpBB.com forums work much better on my Nexus 6 than this site. Personally I think making sites nicer for small screens is easier and more cross-platform than requiring installation of platfom-specific applications to view it.
