[solved] Enable signatures or not?

So, the admins disabled the signatures as they see it as an annoying way of passing personal information passively. I could not disagree more, which is why I made this poll. If you want signatures to be enable, please vote - if not, please do as well. :)

I think signatures are annoying and bloaty. Also they are being used for spam.
I remember a situation in the old forum, where a spam bot created a post and I didn't realize it was spam, because I disabled signatures and the spam was in the signature.

But the first post moderation should hopefully hinder spammers anyway.

It's interesting to see what projects posters work on, and if it's in the sig I actually click on it sometimes. I wouldn't look at their profile though... too lazy for that.

Don't worry. Users who have signatures enabled will report them to you. ;)
+1 for enabling signatures

They can be useful, informative, interesting, creative, funny, etc. :)
Just add a size limit maybe (which is probably the case by default I believe, at least for text).
Nobody is forced to click on links and users can be notified/warned if their signature is too big or against the forum's code of conduct.

I vote for "enabling plain text signatures".

Plain text signatures. I don't mind some images, as long as they are not visually intrusive. I'll just go with the majority here.

i like signatures, and users who don't like them can disable them
viewing what projects work on and what libs they use for example, ohloh profile link image, maybe a small project logo to promote their own...

qubodup!! you bend 'too' easily Sind' will have his way with you all the way to the graveyard..

I did not see any valid point why signatures should be ON.. Maybe the one about project involvement, but there must be a far better way of showing that anyway.

There's always a 'better' way, but easier is better than better. Also "too" for "too easily" :p
Democracy wins. Also the fact that the other admins are for signatures. I'll make them invisible for me though

Q, I'm sad that I can't tickle the dictator out of you yet. I still would like to understand the good of signatures.

Tranberry: it's self-expression and advertising. It's hard to understand when someone is so unselfish as you, but I know you can manage it. :D

I guess I have to be satisfied with those answers. But sadly my mind hungers for more!
