The second alpha release of the Java game development suite jMonkeyEngine 3 is now official. See the jmonkeyengine.com blog for the complete news article, and download the SDK install (jMonkeyPlatform) from the open repository.

Highlights include a new input system, PSSM & SSAO, many physics improvements and intuitive material editing. Anyone with an interest in Java game development or advanced 3D graphics would be wise to check it out!

We followed up ALPHA2 with the release of our brand new community site at http://jmonkeyengine.org. The old http://jmonkeyengine.com domain has been repurposed for "product awareness".

jmonkeyengine.org received 2000 unique visitors and 11'000 views on launch day

Unfortunately we don't have any web designers amongst us, so we've been settling for free/cheap designs and extensive tweaking. If you know of any aspiring web designers, we can offer a live showcase site, for a more unique web design in return (specifically a BuddyPress child theme).
