Shippy 1984

Shippy 1984

I've created a git repository for my Shippy 1984 changes. This is based on the 1.3.3.7 version used in Fedora. All fedora patches are applied. It includes support for SDL2. Which means fullscreen expands to the entire screen instead of just putting the regular sized screen in the middle of a black screen.

As mentioned in another thread, there is complications in making a release. I compared 1.4.1 to 1.3.3.7. The gameplay is exactly the same. There is a shader. I haven't tried that version so I don't know what effect the shader has.

Wow that is slow. Here is a video closer to a modern computer speed for the game.

Two-player support is now working. I don't think it is completely bug free yet but it is close. It's fun to hack away at some one else's code. Still need some enhancements to make it work better on the arcade machine but it is close.

Edit: I did search the Debian repository. It appears to not have the game. I'm surprised Fedora would have something missing from Debian.

I decided to make version 1.5.0. The original author has not responded and hasn't updated his page in a long time.
