it's not much at this stage, but the core gameplay works.

Ahh, cool. Not sure if every "I learn game programming by making a breakout clone" project deserves its own post, but good luck anyways!

I'm not actually sure I've ever played a pong meets breakout game. I couldn't find one at least. For the record I already know game programming.

Ok, I stand corrected... now add some fancy graphics ( http://opengameart.org/content/breakout-set ) and "JUICE" (http://freegamer.blogspot.com/2012/05/d ... -game.html ) to it
