Nice new effort to get people together to play some libre games. This Saturday they will play some Xonotic.

Would be nice to know though where their server is based (no fun playing Xonotic with 1000ms ping).

That's cool. Though I'm a bit sad I apparently just missed WZ2100. ;.;

I guess it is more about getting to know other people interested in libre games and organize your own games from there. Also many people don't have that much time to play (work, family etc.) and thus having a specific occasion once a week can motivate them to join some games.

Average TV consumption is around 4 hours per day, so it looks like people do have a lot of time to spare every day for other useless activities, how is playing games different?

Besides... I was told that there is the common misconception that playing computer games (as opposed to watching TV) can't be done together with your significant other... so there might be more opposition to spending limited free time playing computer games

I've gone to this before. It's really fun. I rarely have time for it, unfortunately.

I'd like to see LGN attract more players. That would be nice.
