Not sure whether I approve or don't care. Really if you want to extend the life of a product, you should do it whilst it still has fans/players. Waiting nearly 20 years seems utterly pointless. I can't fathom whom this is useful for.

I think looking through that code was an interesting experience, to see how they did things "back then" when games seemed black magic to me.

perhaps it would have been better to add the genre in the topic as well (fps) . I had to go to the wiki page to find that out.
