Hello!

I'm not sure if you've heard about it before but the Libre Software Meeting are a non-commercial cycle of conferences, round tables and practical workshops based on Libre Software and its uses. It started as a french event and it's trying to become as international as possible as the years pass.
Last year it was in Geneva, Switzerland and this year it is in Brussels, Belgium.
Conferences can be either in French or English.

This year, they added a Video-Game topic that I'm in charge of.
So, If you can be in Brussels on the 6 to 11 of july and have something to talk about (your game project, some technology or framework you're using, your ideas about future of FLOSS videogames, about existing ones, …) do not hesitate to submit a talk here : http://2013.rmll.info/en/cfp.html

Oh, and in the LSM there are also stand for associations or such, it would be nice if there are some stand about FLOSS video games around.

Can't make it, but make sure you do some advertisement for us ;) Will there be a video stream (I can't speak French through)?

Hum, no idea if there is a video stream.
Some conference are recorded and uploaded later, but I'm not sure all rooms are covered, so I don't know if video-game talks are gonna be recorded. No idea either if there is plan for subtitles for french conferences or not.
Last year for the big conferences they had real-time translations in headphones for non-french speaking people, that was quite impressive. I don't know if it was something specific to Geneva or if there is any plan to do that again. The budget is lower this year from what I've heard.

Here are some noteworthy talks (which could be repeated/updated/built upon):
OpenGameDev https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCopHeE6j2w
FreeDroidRPG https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TliYqlyJTsg
FOSS Gamedev https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3wDnOAjrtk

If you can, please push as hard as possible for videos being recorded.
http://river-valley.tv/ might be a host but I recommend YouTube. LGM switched to the latter, thankfully: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL095A40A9E5123EF6

Subtitles and translations can be created using http://www.amara.org/

By the way, there will be the Libre Graphics Meeting in Madrid in April: http://libregraphicsmeeting.org/2013/

We should have a Wiki page linking all these talks.

Talks must be submitted before the end of the month and for now I got only 2 talks proposed, in french.

Maybe a blog post on freegamer could convince some people?

Thanks a lot for the blog post!

I got 2 more talks on march 31, one in french and one in english, both seems really interesting.
The english one is about 0AD, the french one is about a research project about a game using a brain-computer interface as controller.

The deadline got extended until April 15, I hope I'll get a few more.
