Hello,

Are there any games on the proprietary platform Steam Greenlight that are open source (or at least openly state that they are based on open technology, like for example Dead Cyborg that is based on Blender Game Engine))?

Hmm, I read that the Steam license agreement is actually not compatible with the GPL, so that cuts down on a lot of games. Not sure if that is true though, I never had a look at the game developers license agreement of steam.

The Tales of Maj'Eyal (also known as ToME4) of course! Has garnered votes from all over the roguelike community who all appreciate's DarkGod's work. GPLv3, though it operates on a strongly 'cathedral' model as Eric Raymond would call it.

If you haven't played it yet, then you HAVEN'T LIVED YET DAMN IT. You can get it here. It hasn't won the Ascii Dreams Roguelike of the Year in 2010, 2011 and is set to win again in 2012! It should be noted that it made history in the award by being the only game to win twice in a row.

DOWNLOAD IT NOW! It's free, get it here.
