These are my thoughts and my opinions, you can think of another way ok?

Title Game: Assault Cube
Publication Date: 2006
Last updated: November 14, 2010
Platform: Windows, Linux and Mac OS X
Category: Shooter / FPS Arena
Mode: Singleplayer and Multiplayer
License: Free Software :gpl:

Assault Cube is a game of peak in the OpenSource world. is a FPS Arena, even if not completely, since it has a minimum in the game realism. The game weighs about 50 MB, so lightweight and suitable for all PCs.

GAMEPLAY
The gameplay is very focused on fun: in Singleplayer we have over 22 maps and 3 modes available, the BOT (computers) are fairly well planned and you can even adjust the difficulty of them. The Multiplayer maps instead has the most base maps change, that are truly endless. There are about 100 servers, where we can create a game or join our other games. The game modes in Multiplayer are 17. The gameplay in conclusion can become frantic from a calm, given that the maps also vary in size.

GRAPHICS AND AUDIO
you can adjust the graphic so that we prefer, but overall not bad for those who just want to have fun. The graphics engine is the Cube Engine (OpenSource). The audio is all open source and is taken by his peers as Saubreatein and other games. It 'still well done and clear.

Ahh the counterstrike of the open-source world... I am always surprised that people actually still play it. However you seem to be a true fan... so keep enjoying it!

It's too bare-bones. 5 guns is not enough, and the game is overall simplistic. The only good part is the maps, which are all inspired and designed around gameplay. Also, there's seemingly millions of them.

I don't like it, and I think we badly need an open source 'real world shooter'. By 'real word' I don't mean realistic (though I sure would love a Hidden & Dangerous 2 clone, which is my favourite game of all time!), I mean it takes place in the real world like Counter Strike or Battlefield do.

I quite like AssaultCube and wish it'd have free assets but I'm not making an effort to find/make replacements, so I don't get to complain. :)

I haven't played it in a while though.

I was an AC player, stopped to play after the latest release (v.1.1.0.4) because developers unbalanced the whole game and they haven't still corrected their mistakes. Just see how overpowered is the shotgun.
