Right now my favorite free/open source game for playing is Trigger Rally because it's quick and runs on my EeePc 1000H Netbook, which I carry around all the time.

should I add that to the poll?

You got some strange choices there and other high profile titles are missing. Syntensity and Thunder&Lightning for example are not under active development for quite a long time now. Oh and War§ow isn't really "Free".

My list would be: Xonotix, Tremulous, Megaglest and OAD

i just added stuff from the forums that i found and some that people suggested

SuperTuxKart (of course), and 0 A.D. is the best in my opinion. If I were to pick a third option (which I didn't) I'd choose SuperTux.

Covers arcade driving, real-time strategy and platformers. Picking similar games would be kinda daft.

same here, (kind of) mine were ST/STK and third keeps changing.

I have a new third favorite! me and my shadow! that game is pretty cool!

One of my favorite is UFO : Alien Invasion.
These times I enjoy playing Legend Of Edgar and Zelda Solarus DX (and Me And My Shadow).
With friends, I play SuperTuxKart with joysticks or Tremulous with PCs.

Other games that I like to play from time to time are FreeCol, FreeCiv, Widelands... and when I wanna feel really challenged, I try to get Speed Dreams to work with just a mouse

I voted other. Two of my favorite free games are Freedoom and Blasphemer.

Would like to see Vega Strike, Wesnoth, Pioneer in this poll... oh dear, lots of options I'd like to see actually.

I voted other - three of my favorite FOSS games, Teeworlds, Warsow, and Warzone 2100 - aren't in the poll.

Why didn't you include some really major free games (Teeworlds, Warzone2100, Wesnoth) in the poll, but very small ones like Me and My Shadow?

well... my favorite free games are ToME/all the rogue likes and Pioneer and Orbiter.......

I voted red eclipse, supertuxkart, and megaglest.
The only other game i have played is supertux, personally i'm not too keen on the mario style games (more of a sonic fan!) although i find myself playing it from time to time.

Not sure about the others, but would be interested to find out when i have to time to download them.

Favourites that aren't in the poll; Sauerbraten, Alien Arena, Open Red Alert, Pingus.

CrackAttack, i could spent hours playing it and never got old.

Laemon: ever tried http://blockattack.sourceforge.net/ ? What do you think about it in comparison to crack attack?
