How do you make tycoon games?

PostPosted: 15 Aug 2011, 13:27
by Dinotherium
Hey guys, I am new here, and I joined this site for one purpose: learn how to make tycoon games. And before you give advice I don't need, or assume that I have no abilities at all, I will give you my abilities:

I can Hack, Code, Skin, and Import into a Game series called "Zoo Tycoon".
Proof:
I host some of my projects at http://s15.zetaboards.com/DDTs_Zoo_Tycoon_2/index/ a.k.a, Dinotherium's Tycoon, dedicated to animal tycoon games, and now I am considering dedicating this site to plant tycoon even. But now back to the point.

When I was a pokemon nerd, I was able to hack pokemon ruby and saphire ROMs using certian programs into a completly new pokemon game, unfourtionitly, I was not allowed to join fourms at the time, and all data was erased from mine, and the family's user on the XP laptop, untill my dad had to start over the whole thing. :(

My dad is a paralegial, meaning he deals with legial things, so in some cases, copyright is not a problem. Note that my game is for fair use only, and I will share it for download if my dad approves.

And last but not least, I am dignosed with a condition known as "High Funtioning Autisum". Meaning, I am smarter then usual kids with autisum, and even then the average person at some things (science, prehistory, technology), and lower at some (spelling, math (I can still do division, xponits (worst spelling error ever), and some algebra), and some vocabulary), Making me a nerd and a geek at somethings (but hey, being a geek helps when it comes to making games right?). Point being, my condition actauly helps when it comes to programing.

EDIT: Okay, HOW DID THIS SHOW UP HERE! I thought I posted this in GENERAL!

I am Kyle, I'm registering here for supertuxkart forums only. Programmer composer extraordinaire. I am able to jump into unfamiliar code and get something done, for example blender's straighten uv tool. I only saw stk code/chat this week and am responsible for 4(I mean three) changes: one icon squash patch, 2 help items, main menu button name change, and a bugfix for the aforementioned patch. I need to add a picture, which you see over there -->

hi all, we are Team SD, and sorry mods and admins, for this is the second post :p

the author of this post goes by the alias of KZR, Team SD's first member, before it was even a team.

I have started a prototype of what could be a sub-genre called "Ninja Castlevania with Sonic physics" in December '10 and the project lives on and is actively developed, as we're reaching close to v0.4.

I will make sure a project thread is opened in your forums :)

cheers!

Hiya! I'm DangerOnTheRanger from the USA!
I've been lurking these forums as a guest for a short while, and I finally decided to register :)

Some of the FOSS games I like are Warsow (if that counts - the artwork isn't really free), Teeworlds, and SuperTuxKart.
The primary FOSS gaming projects I participate in at the moment are OpenBlox, of which I'm the leader/head developer, and Stick Fight, of which I'm a normal developer.
I mostly do programming, but I also do 3D modeling in Blender and 2D artwork in Inkscape and Gimp from time to time - in fact, the avatar I'm going to use here (I'll upload it shortly) is made by me :)

You can also find me on Diaspora - dangerontheranger@diasp.org.
