Hiya, I'm Nerdcore Steve. I'm going to be part of Boise State in the fall and am already part of the video game development group there. We're starting to mess around with the Blender game engine and, though it hasn't been decided yet, I'm pushing for our game to be open source.

Hey everybody, I'm PJ. I'm a young programmer from South Africa with a passion for open source. If anybody is in need of a Java or FreePascal programmer, then I'd love to help out. :D

I'm Jonas, developer of Thunder&Lightning, a game inspired by Carrier Command. I started the game in a time when dinosaurs ruled the earth and I was still a student, but I'm a professional software developer now (with much less time unfortunately ).

Hey Jonas, nice to see you here!

T&L is pretty much on hiatus for a long time now... any plans to revive it, or do you have some other plans?

Hi,

I'm from Italy and when I have some time, though unfortunately not much, I like to play on my Linux PC. I particularly like FPS games so I was already registered on the forums on Open Arena and Xonotic sites.

I was referred to here from #opengameart when I asked them what I should make after I showed them my Re-Volt Tracks.
So I'm here to provide a few misc. contributions to STK. :D

I recently found out about the red eclipse project and am eager to see how the league mutation is fleshed out. :)

Hi there!

I'm malevolent, from Barcelona. I had help some FOSS projects by translating into spanish/catalan because my coding habilities had been decreasing among the years since I became BOFH... I can help to translate any project in the languages I mentioned before, and any issue regarding systems or protocols, but avoiding coding.

I also drink beer as in 'free' ;)

Hello. I'm here mostly to learn and to beef up my programming skills. I'd also like to learn about open source games in general. I'm pretty much a noob, but am proficient in C and am willing to work hard at learning.

Oops... Seeing qubodup comment, come to my mind freegamer blog... and I almost forgot that I write - yet another- linux gamming blog.
In spanish and only over 300 articles presenting each one game. So non spanish-spoken people here surely will not visit it, but all of you are welcome!

Hi,

I've been coming to the forum for some time now, and been a subscriber to the awesome blog for much more. I registered mainly because of Linwarrior3D, I know that there are lot's of nice games being discussed but I'm a Mech fan, a big one :), still I've also been following and trying the other games that have a presence here (trying to compile OpenDungeons on OS X, I can't really drive any kart in STK :(, and I ultimately suck in RE ). I would like to start helping more in some projects (OpenDungeons and LW) if I have the time.

I'm from Portugal and as far as game projects come, I have mostly done some translations in other projects, Wesnoth and FreeCol, though the first is yet to see an official release of the translation and the later is now being done by another user. Currently I collaborate in WTactics (wtactics.org) as translator and developer of SandScape (sourceforge.net/projects/sandscape/), a way to play WT inside the browser.

I do developer work as a freelancer, mainly in Web development (and no, I don't do websites :) ), using PHP or Java, I also teach programming languages (C, PHP, Java, JavaScript, etc) either to other programmers or in programming courses.

Nice to meet you all,

Knitter

... I forgot to introduce myself about 2 months ago, so here it goes:

Hi there,

I'm fluxord, a FOSS-FPS-gamer. Currently I'm looking to contribute some stuff (textures, maybe maps/sounds) for the Red Eclipse FPS game.
I'm from Paraguay, I was born here but I'm going to Austria very soon because I'm from Austrian/German ancestry. So I'm going back to the motherland :)
Also, I can speak Spanish, German, English (obvious :)), some Portuguese and also Guarani (the second main language here in Paraguay).

Some extras bytes: I was a fanatical Slackware Linux user some years ago... Eventually got tired of it (I discovered there is such a thing as Real Life).
Now I mainly use Windows 7 . Seriously, I'm looking for a good Linux distro that works well on DELL studio laptops.

Well that's it, bye!

Uhh seriously? Leaving the nice Paraguay to live in the shithole that is north-central Europe? I hope you have some very good reasons for it :p (Ever thought about why your ancestors left in the first place... they probably had very good reasons!)

The only thing I will miss from here is this:

The best beverage for Programmers, Developers, Artists, etc.
Nothing beats it for overnight work (and gaming).

Seriously, it is way better than Coffee/Soda and you can drink it all day. No joke.
Look for "Mate Tea" at your shops ;) .

Sorry for the German ;)
