Hello everyone, im Ricky Van, an ordinary gamer who loves every type of game in every genre (excluding game that emphasize on lootbox and money-grabbing scheme)

i found this forum & Valyria Tear from recommendation i've got from my friend in github who were working on open source zombie survival sandbox game "Cataclysm : Dark Days Ahead". and i've been looking for open-source game around internet for a while now.

im starting to love open-source game after recently playing classic/ASCII roguelike games like ADOM, Angband and Cataclysm Dark Days Ahead, and JRPG as Elona.

i don't have any skills in programming but i've been involved in some sort of beta-testing program where i have to report every bug or features that aren't working properly.

Welcome Vytautas, Wilker and Ricky Van.

Ricky Van: If you want to help test, I believe HedgeWars was looking for people to do some testing before the new release. I don't see how anyone could like every type of game but maybe that is just me.

Wilker: Not having a computer does restrict one's ability to contribute. Based on your posts I assume you have an android device to use. Unfortunately development generally requires a computer. Still you can contribute on documentation or possibly other tasks like testing, artwork, and music.

dulsi: I am considering contributing some code for SuperTuxKart. Why do you think I'm into STK? Because of my posts? Anyways you're correct.

Hi all. EliCash here. I know very little about programming and have no idea what I'm doing. I do not expect this to go well. Wish me luck!

Hey Everyone!

My name is Chris. I started my game dev journey about a year and 8 months ago and I am currently working on an ARPG for mobile called Anzen: Echoes of War. I primarily do programming, game design, art direction, marketing and project management. I've dabbled in rigging and animation but painting weights on character models pushed me over the edge. :joy:

Hey all =)

Here to create and discuss game development with you all, I am basically scrambling for as much info as I can so I can cram it in for a chance at a spot in a course for my Advanced Diploma of Professional Game Development.

So far I have a few things that I am tweaking and hopefully this will be a great place for me to share them with people.

Hello all!

Theo here. I used to play STK back in the old days and I recently redownloaded it on Linux, and I really want to get back into it and give back to the community. I have some experience with Blender and coding, and also have a few ideas for the game.

Hope to see you more soon,
Theo

Welcome everyone. Super Tux and Super Tux Kart definitely seem like the draw to this forum. Hopefully you will look around at what other open source games are available.

@Ayhan: I found your game easily enough. Looks like Construct 2 is not open source. Have you looked at any of the open source game development tools like godot or love. Wuzzy was just asking about peoples experience with those tools. Probably not as easy as Construct 2.

@Chomwitt: I'm sure the developers would appreciate localization fixes. Congrats on compiling from git repo. I have an artist who has helped with Bt Builder. I tried to get him to use git to submit changes but he couldn't get it to work.

I'm taking a class called Open Source Basic(It's a freshman course.), and professor recommended us to contribute to an open source community. So I searched for it, and I ran into this community site. IT IS A FATE. I want to make my first contribution here. :D :D
