Hi! I'm Ada aka Shino1, a visual artist, writer and amateur gamedev/modder from Poland. I work on starting a career in game industry and I love free software, so I thought that contributing to SuperTux (and poerhaps SuperTuxKart) could be a great way to 'get my feet wet' while helping out a project I love.

Hello,

I'm fdroidiordf and as my name suggest, I'm a great fan of the FLOSS-App-Store for Android, FDroid.
I'm also a great fan of other FLOSS things like OS's, games (SuperTux, SuperTuxKart etc.) and other software.

Sorry for the delayed approvals, but we get a lot of spam right now that is difficult to distinguish from these introduction posts. If you are not approved within a week please try again as the post might have been accidentally disapproved together with a lot of spam.

Welcome Nick. Are you working on any game projects?

Welcome Shino1. My oldest would appreciate more Super Tux development. He told me he got to the end and it said "to be continued".

Welcome fdroidiordf. You couldn't pick an easier name to spell. :) fluffrabbit is trying to encourage more mobile development posts. Are you working on any games?

Indeed! Threads here and here. The current main technical challenge is mobile development using only free software tools, which I am talking about here.

I'd be encouraging mobile development as well if mobile was actually a valid platform for computing, i.e. usable without any proprietary SW (and preferably HW as well).

Abolish all IP laws. Use CC0. Let's write less retarded software.

I had an imaginary conversation last night with someone from this forum who said the same thing. To which I argued that it is a valid computation platform due to its power and ease of use. Is Microsoft Visual Studio not a valid IDE because it's proprietary? Of course it's valid, as are the dominant mobile OS's. But now we might be getting slightly OT.

Hi all, I'm rubenwardy. I'm a core developer and long-time contributor of Minetest. I've done loads of random hobby projects too, and hope to one day create a successful free game of my own

Welcome rubenwardy. I believe I've seen you on the minetest forums. My kids used to play it all the time. They have decreased their play of it in the recent year. Any particular type of game you want to make?

Nice! I played Stronghold HD, the Stronghold Crusaders, and Stronghold Legends -- and I loved them all. The great graphics are going to be a challenge to make, as each unit interactively fights.

I have no experience in modelling or animation. I'd probably have to find a friend to do that. So, it will be 2d billboards to begin with

Any open source projects you are working on? Looks like gsbhasin123 is into SuperTuxKart.

Welcome Sommejul. I've played SuperTuxKart at various times but never for very long. I was surprised by how much is in the game.

hewwo ^w^

i'm Wilker, from Brazil.

i have been wanting to be a game dev or a programmer for a long time, but it has always been hard to me to even start properly due to personal problems. currently, it is because i don't have a job to fix my computer, so i am unable to study at all, so all i can do at the moment is comment on issues in Github and stuff.

the FOSS community is amazing, and i feel like i have many ideas that i want to show to people so i can help with open source projects, specially for interface design, so whenever i get the chance, i want to help with this game too.

so hi :3
