Introduce yourself

Hi, I'm Jastiv. I am the lead developer of wograld http://www.wograld.org

Wograld is a Crossfire fork that uses 45 degree isometric 2D and aims to be more like Ultima Online than any other free software game currently.
I have a burning hatred for the most popular free software game known to users: dependency hunt, even SDL can cause dependency hunt unfortunetly. I believe that if you want to use a library, you should put it right in the game rather than relying on the broke package manager. It is this stance, that separates me from the developer centric philosophy of most free software game projects.

The wograld site includes a detailed blog where I fill in the blanks about what keeps the project (that currently compiles and runs, but has glaring user interface problems) from moving forward. Not enough is said about why free software games do not get to be as popular or as fun as they should be, so I strive to point out the difficulties in the process even if it is not what developers want to hear.

Hello everyone !

I'm student in computer science, and I discovered STK (0.6) last weekend, thanks to a networking project that made me turn on my old desktop with Ubuntu. I was very excited to find an active community around this really cool game.

I like drawing, I did a little 3D modeling when I was in high school and had time, and I also really enjoy programming.

I wish to get familiar with the community, dev process, etc., and when it's done, get involve in STK's development -- code-related work and/or visual-related work. I'll first try not getting too annoying, asking questions to everyone about everything !

Ähm. So I finally made it into the introduction thread.

I'm maintaing the gamejs.org project and writing small 1-4 week games with it. I'd rather have something small & ugly that is fun (= has a good core game mechanic that is tweaked) then something large & shiny that.. really.. isn't that much fun to actually play.

Before that I was doing pygame games. Participating in pyweek and such.

Currently my day job is mostly building CMS/backend stuff with server-side javascript... so I guess it's only natural that I started a js game framework.

I'm normally mikeplus64 but I was dumb and made a typo without noticing, if there is an administrator around I would appreciate it if you change my name to "mikeplus64"

G'day community, how are you today?
That's good!

I decided I'd download this game after seeing it on quadropolis, looking for Assaultcube mods.
I used to be a "Call of Duty" player - however I've always held a place in my heart for cube and mods (mainly Assaultcube).

I've played a few games of this and I like it, it reminds me of Halo in some ways.

Thanks

My name is Count+Step. I just started playing this game and, I have to say, it is quite awesome. I never really enjoyed playing Sauerbraten online for some reason, but Red Eclipse is actually fun for me online.

Mutsu. I started playing FPS games with good old wolf3d, then caught UT99 when it was new and played on a 33.6k modem -- oh, the lag. I played UT2k3/2k4 on a couple ladders, though my old group only snagged top ladder ranks a couple times, and then fell into MMOs for a few years in college -- play to level cap, raid a little, dump game, rinse and repeat. I played a little Gunz, a little more S4: League until I couldn't take the tiny map rotation any longer (seriously, if you ignore the awful style, it's a remarkably solid game at heart), and now I'm fiddling with RedEclipse, which I'm happy to say I'm enjoying thus far.

Hey Guys,

I'm going to be putting up a thread for what I'm planning to do, but I'm hopefully going to get your support on a new project I'm starting.

It's going to be pretty ambitious, but I'll see what I can do :-)
