Welcome to a fellow African resident! What open-source games are you running on your server?

Hello,

I'm Chris from Ohio, United States. I"m not sure if this is the right forum to use or if the community discussion board is the proper place on the main super tux site. I requested access and got a log in but don't currently have the ability to post or edit anything.

I've been playing super tux recreationally off and on for a while. I might be interested in eventually contributing to it some after grad school lets up a bit. In the meantime I'd like to offer feedback and suggestions for the game and maybe dink around a little with the source for fun.

These are my skills if anyone's interested:
*C++
*Java
*Some C#
*Some LISP
*Korn Shell scripting
*Perl
*General Linux/Unix (I've done more on the command line than with desktop Linux)
*Open GL (pre-shaders)
*I've been getting more experience in implementing physics simulations
*Wrote a 2D space shooter in XNA a few years ago
*Some Maya experience, along with a brief foray in Photoshop and a couple other tools. I've tried out Blender but have not done that much with it.
*I'm a grad student in computer science trying to get into computer animation.

Hello, I'm Luca and I am introducing myself into programming and game programming. Actually I'm starting from zero, but I would like to have an eye on the game programming since now, because I would like to learn more about game modding and game making.
Unfortunately, I have no great knowledge to share, but I'm an old gamer (pong generation XD) with strong basis on image editing.
Well, have a nice day! ^__^

Hi,
my name is Yann and I'm the main dev (and co-manager) of a forming game studio : Electric Dragons .
Being a man of principle, I'll guide my collaborator as far as possible in the way of Libre software, and w'll try to keep (at least) all our code open ( :gpl: !).

Technically speaking I'm a experimented c++(11) developer a little less experienced violinist and not a bad Blender user : http://webshinra.deviantart.com/

Being a free software activist, and seeing the little echoing it has in players (and dev) mind, I feel that I need a board like this.

( being french, my english will sometime be approximative, sorry)

Hey guys.

I'm a game developer living in the UK and in my spare time I'm working in a GPL game called Tannhauser, a top down space shooter. It's going pretty well and built on top of SDL / OpenGL and I'm looking at a dual Windows/Linux release!

Here's the project site where I've been posting its progress: http://www.engamer.net/projects/profile/tannhauser

Looking forward to speaking with other developers and players here :)

Hi Everybody, I'm GunnerWolf, a 17 year old British C# programmer, game server owner and CEO of Iron Genesis (http://spot.irongen.com)

I'm currently working on a small, open-ended, simplistic RPG game designed around allowing it's community to shape it as they see fit, doing so by storing all in-game content (Items, classes, quests, enemies etc) in fully editable XML files, and of course releasing the game Open-Source so as to allow the community to modify it as they please.

I came here because, in the past I had been posting most updates regarding this game either on my blog (http://skidsdev.blogspot.com) or on the forum of a friend of mine, simply to keep up the activity on his site. But now I've decided I want to move it's discussion to a more game-development oriented website, but I didn't want to use one such as GameDev simply because of the sheer size of it.

All in all I hope to have a good time here and become a part of the community.

Hi,
This is Ameet Khedkar here from India. I am relatively new to FOSS (a year ago, I didn't know what open source meant) and very excited to start off today! Definitely will be seeing more of it now. I am pursuing a Bachelors in Computer Engineering, will hopefully be finishing it in 2015.

Hope to talk to all you interesting people VERY soon.
