Godot News guest blog post for Moonwards

The Godot team chose to give us the opportunity of a guest post on their news blog to give us a bit of exposure. It means a lot to us and we worked hard on it. It came out today - it's here https://godotengine.org/article/guest-post-small-team-big-project-building-moonwards

It's been up for a few hours and we've gotten 5 new stars on our GitHub repo thanks to it already. And a new person on our Discord server. Getting this recognition makes me feel like the project somehow just became more real - and I started the thing. Those guys are like stars to me. I'd rather meet them than meet Elon Musk.

(Ok maybe not more than Elon Musk. Britney Spears? Brad Pitt. Yeah, more than Brad Pitt.)

Congratulations -- yes this helps very much, I'm glad you got this boost -- it's definitely deserved as the project looks promising. If you want some more you can try posting on 4chan like I did - I got doxxed, as well as a few death threats and recommendations to kill myself, but it resulted in over 50 stars on GitLab :) Anyway, there are other places to consider such as Hacker News.

I kind of know the feeling, I once started an engine rewrite for the original Mafia game, we were making some progress and became trending on GH. I think the creator of the game, the most famous game dev in my country, tweeted something about it. However it didn't last... that's when I realized I wasn't born to be a leader of projects. But you could be...

So I wish you the best of luck with your project. And thanks again for starting it. Actually I think I'll reshare your project on Diaspora because some people might be interested (EDIT: done).

PS.: sorry but I hate Elon Musk :)

Thanks drummyfish

Interesting project. I see you've set up GitHub Sponsors and a Patreon campaign. At least, the relocated project has that. I have to set up both those things.

I don't know if I'm up for wading into 4chan. I've never been. But your point is well taken.

I started an account on Diaspora and responded. There are so many platforms to work on now....

I can understand hating Elon Musk. Still, his companies are doing a lot of good.

The 4chan thing was more or less a joke, in seriousness I don't recommend it xD Unless you enjoy some masochism.

I'm no longer on GitHub, my fellow devs then went on and tried to continue the project somehow but I haven't followed it.

Diaspora is one of those platforms that has orders of magnitude fewer users than mainstream proprietary media, but the few people that are there are usually the die hard supporters of free SW et al., so it's worth giving them a try. I'd maybe post some videos on PeerTube if you haven't already.
