What open source games do you actually play regularly?

This is a bit of a straw poll, but I was curious, what open-source games actually get played regularly? (I'll admit, in my case the answer is "none", but then I rarely play games anyway).

  • All sorts of games in Minetest
  • Xonotic

But my list changes frequently, and I play a lot of different games on-and-off.

Wograld, but sometimes I justify it as "play testing."

- mindustry
- block attack

Was about to write Xonotic, but I haven't actually played in a longer while.

I suppose the only regular one would be Red Eclipse. I keep going back to Simutrans but wouldn't call it regular.

Currently Xonotic basically daily, and the new Mindustry. In the past also OpenArena, Ryzom, Neverball, Blackvoxel, SuperTuxKart, FreedroidRPG, FLARE, and 0.A.D. I've probably forgotten some.

I try lots of open source games. For the most part I don't play any regularly. The same is true of commercial games. I will play it for a while, put it down and probably not go back to it. I do go back and play angband occasionally. I've spent a lot of time in minetest but haven't played it as much recently.

I often try lots of open-source games, mainly with a view to contributing if I enjoy it, but I'm yet to find any game that I want to spend time with or extend. The only game I play regularly (of any kind) is Overwatch. Unfortunately there's no open-source equivalent that I know of, although Tremulous comes close.

DCSS, which I really don't even enjoy playing that much, I'm just after a good solid roguelike that isn't all about monster spamming and has half decent visuals. None of the current crop of roguelikes with tiles really do it for me. ToME4 is just way over complicated, has monster spamming. DCSS has monster spamming. The commercial roguelikes aren't any better.

FreeOrion. I've recently set up slow paced multiplayer server so I can regularly play games with others.

Free Software Games you have been playing lately.

Moderator's note: merged from independent topic, I hope that is ok :)

I've been playing the flare game. It had been years since I last played it and it now has a complete campaign. I"m actually amazed at how long it is. I compiled from the latest source and didn't have any issues with that. Some of the mods messed up the menu, I'm not sure why, so I removed them.
I was looking on youtube and saw all these mods for like diablo1, and I'm like, why. All I remember about diablo 1 was the copy-protection on the cd made grinding noises and wore out the drive. You still need the old diablo1 cd to play the mods. I like flare because there is no DRM copy protection, runs under GNU/Linux, and yeah, that is good.

I also fire up FreeCiv from time to time albeit I wish it had a bit more character (like the original Civ games - a throne room or graphical palace etc).

I mostly just play old school first person shooters and mods and map packs (Wolfenstein 3D+Wolf4SDL and Blood+NBlood mostly, with some Doom+Crispy Doom), but at least their source code is released, so that kind of counts.

I've been playing Freedroid RPG. It has come a long way from when I last remember it. It has a release candidate I compiled from git. So far, no major bugs. Admittedly though sometimes bot killing does get a bit repetitive and I can't find some of npcs. Other than that, it is actually pretty good. It must be fun because I have been playing for two days.
