git repos of semi abandoned but good open source games?

I guess... also easier to find games in need of a new maintainer that way.

That's logical. No point in splitting the market. If you really want maintainers you should keep a shiny list with GIFs and sparkles somewhere to be like "HEY WHO WANTS TO ADOPT A GAME?"

So it turned out Cubosphere has a huge problem with non-free media.
So the new Cubosphere devs have started to work to get their media licensed under free terms or look for replacements:

Those don't seem so abandoned with works on them 10 months ago? Or am I missing something?

I can't believe no one mentioned Retux, especially the original developer who sometimes posts here.
https://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/retux

The latest binary release is playable, I tried to run the source from git and got this error.
python retux.py
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "retux.py", line 43, in <module>
import sge

I don't really expect to get any help for it, given that the project is abandoned and all. Maybe someone with more python knowledge could take it up.

It says that it can't find the sge python module, so you need to install that (it's the engine): http://stellarengine.nongnu.org

Anyone know what happened to HALE? It looks like it was abandoned and I can't get it to compile. HALE, as I recall was kind of like Balder's gate with Wesnoth graphics. I just don't know if someone took the code and forked it over at say gitlab or something.

Just a quick notice: due to a server migration next week I will shut down the git repo. I don't think it is really worth transferring everything to the new server as there isn't much one it and registrations have been closed for a while.
I might set up a git repository on a somewhat unrelated sister-project (not purely Free gaming related) where I have full control over the infrastructure in the nearish future, but I am not there yet and might change my mind on that.
