qubodup {l Wrote}:True that. (Well, perhaps http://www.parallelrealities.co.uk/proj ... onquer.php counts).

Thanks for showing me this link. Blob and Conquer looks wonderful and highly original to boot. I just had an idea about making a 3D Pacman style game aftering reading more about it. :)

Release soon, release often and feel free to make a thread in showcase once there's a (pre(pre))release. ;) It looks nice so far character-, osd- and texture-wise.

Well the game is very much playable. But I only have one single level done.I should gone with a random level generator. The extreme slow speed of level design with GTKRadiant is slowing me down. It's not that Radiant sucks, its just that programmers like me suck when I asked to make BSP maps !

PS: reminds me of World of Padman. Is it inspired by it? Or by them canceling SP plans? Do you happen to use their textures and/or engine? (Clueless curiosity speaking here.)

Indeed. You guess correctly. World of Padman was one of my inspirations along with Warsow. And a little known 2003 game called XIII. If I ever get the money I hope to emulate their awesome comic book art style. it really makes a FPS game stand out from typical brown and gray military shooters on consoles.

Anyway I made some improvements to the AI !

AI is a very important focus of the game. The enemy trys to act like living creatures rather than bots. They get surprised, they become angry, sometimes they even panic and run away. In combat they try to use tactics like doing area searches when they can't find you. When under heavy fire they take cover.

In this video I am showing the work done on the AI senses which it uses to perceive the world around it. I am very happy about how the AI reacts to the environment and events. :)

Here I use my battlearmors strength to throw a Cocacola vending machine at an unsuspecting enemy. He is a Halo grunt type mook who is quite panicky and not very skilled. As I attack he cant see me coming behind with the vending machine !

As he gets hit he is knocked down. He tries to get back up. The important part is that he does not instantly react to being slammed with colacola vending machine. He has a WTF reaction and needs a few seconds to come to his senses. Only then he turns around and tries to begin an attack

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jP8SWLA2y2w

In this one I show what happens when i fire a SINGLE bullet in a room full of enemies. They don't know where it comes from or even who fired it. So they start searching the area. I am cleverly hidden in a corner so they can't find me. The difference to most games is that the AI does not have magic hearing that tells them exact coordinates of where the shot came from. They are quite clueless as you would be when fired upon by a hidden sniper.

Hey, I'm Iridium.
I'm here to report bugs and to develop this game's community. I started playing in 0.5 and have been an avid player ever since.
I look forward to the release of online multiplayer and the addon manager.
In addition to development, I love to play the game. If I find bugs, I'll report, so they can be squashed. ;)
I will be posting STK time trial videos on Youtube once in a while. I'll help out wherever I can here, just ask.

My name is Spencer, I'm from California, USA, and I don't know any coding, but I'm interested and would like to learn. I have a little experience in VB, but that's it. I'm headed to college soon where I hope to learn to code in a variety of languages. I hope to contribute to the indie gaming scene however possible.
