LibrePlanet 2020 is coming up on March 14-15. Jastiv is giving a presentation. I haven't bought tickets yet but I'm planning on going.

Not a bad idea. Is it available as an svg or higher resolution image. Not sure if it can be done in time for the event at this point but I also go with the LUG to a science festival in April.

Ah, good that you mention it, a while ago I searched for the svg sources of some of our stuff, this is what I found:

I've written that attendees should ask for a dollar off the non-member fees (or a dollar refund for members) in protest of LibrePlanet being censored this year.

VP Alexandre Oliva submitted a talk this year-- not having a talk accepted is commonplace, but his talk was accepted. He was not formally replied to, but through side-channels learned that after his speech was accepted he would not be invited to give his talk, not because of anything he planned to say but because of what he MIGHT say. http://www.fsfla.org/ikiwiki/blogs/lxo/ ... rs.en.html

Specifically, that he might say something supportive of Stallman.

Note that the official policy of the FSF, detemined by the board of directors, was never to censor Stallman supporters, or support Stallman censors. The official policy of the board was to stay the course. http://www.fsfla.org/ikiwiki/blogs/lxo/ ... up.en.html The actions of the FSF since September, from 2 people censoring pro-Stallman messages on the mailing lists (now exposed and dismissed as biased moderators) as well as unofficial / unwritten policy on a staff level at the FSF, has generally been to censor and stifle people who want Stallman back.

When this spreads to LibrePlanet cancelling their own VP's accepted speech because of FEAR he might say something the board doesn't forbid-- something the FSF has no official policy on-- it is not truly Libre. I'm calling the 2020 event NonfreePlanet: "If it can't be libre as in speech, it might as well be gratis as in beer."

The non-cancelled guests this year include Brewster Kahle, one of the world's most prominent librarians, of humanity's largest library.

Librarians are fierce opponents of political censorship-- and tend to solve problems not by cancellation, but with open discussion. I have asked Brewster Kahle in my article to withdraw in protest. I don't think anybody has to worry about him actually doing that. I am informed that FSF staff read these articles closely.

My friend, who had originally applied to the board of directors this year (after I recommended him, after two people had suggested I join the board of the FSF, including one board member-- I declined) is holding onto his money rather than attending. He has already cancelled his membership-- I tried to talk him out of that.

I will be sure to catch Jastiv's presentation on video if possible-- good luck with your speech!

Then ended up accepting my talk for Free Software Game Restoration but the in person conference is cancelled. I don't know what will be done for a virtual presentation.

I will be doing my virtual presentation. Testing went ok, so hopefully it will all work out. I will be there. It is not like I'm going to be busy going to in person events.

The closing speeches on both days seemed to have a lot of issues, but my talk and dulsi's seemed to have gone well.

I gave them the slides. They have put some up but not mine. Sharing on my own is probably a good idea anyway. They wanted it in pdf format for free that I could embed a non-free font in an open office file.

I forget the thing about clanlib.

But you has piqued my interest in port old floss games in clanlib to SDL2. Because when I started with GNU/Linux (maybe 2003 more or less), I loved a game that it was in Mandrake (old and dead GNU/LInux distro). It is called Clanbomber (it is dead now) and the game was a lot of funny black mood.

What steps should I take to start the process? open a thread in "Project Showcase & Collaboration" section (to avoid the off-topic in this thread)?

Clanbomber is included with Fedora. You could just play it. However, that isn't the only version. That repo has Clanbomber2 which is a FB (I believe framebuffer) port with network play. If you wanted to port it, you could start with either one. Depending on how much clanlib is used, it might be easier to port the FB version. My preference is to replace one piece at a time and leave it runable at all times. If that is not possible. Comment out all clanlib code and includes and get it to compile. Then slowly add in things. Like make the window open. Then focus on displaying that initial screen. I would recommend images before text because if they are using fonts that can be annoying. Then add input. I would leave sound for last.

However that isn't the only version. You want this version. They have already ported it to SDL. (I haven't looked if it is SDL1 or SDL2 but it isn't hard to port to SDL2.)
