Hi,
Turtle {l Wrote}:For the future, have you folks considered doing a poll for the tracks that will be shipped with the game as defaults? It could be the 7 most popular are implemented in the game, while the rest are add-ons. I think this might also motivate track devs to jazz-up their tracks (kind of like a contest).

No, we are not going to do any polls. Besides the important objections Auria has mentioned there is just the additional work that must happen if we change tracks: update the Grand Prix, update all challenges, test the challenges and GP (e.g. we try to balance the GPs so that easier tracks are used first), ... A lot of work not many people might be aware of. And we just don't have time for this. Also I consider the track selection an important part of the overall quality of STK. A poll might favor the more average track (if people can vote more than once, while some 'good' tracks might attract more a fan-boy/hater behaviour - resulting in overall less votes).

Just to avoid one potential misunderstanding: I hope I don't give the impression that we don't listen, it's just that we will make a final decision (which are often affected by other concerns as well, e.g. a very beautiful kart might have graphics requirements that are too high, or the physics might not work, ...)

Cheers,
Joerg

Auria {l Wrote}:Well we're a bit wary of polls, the cause being that someone made a not-so-good track but gets all their friends to vote for it, etc. Or some beginners vote down more difficult tracks while long-time players vote down easy tracks, etc... IMO polls are very difficult to manage

FTFY. :D

I agree, polls are meaningless. Voting by trusted community members, that's a different kettle of fish.

I like the song, though I liked the percussions better in the previous version, I think they sound too synthetic now

It's cool :) Though I think it could be more japanese-styled.

Thanks all :D
Glad to see that you like !

I made a new version :)
- the percussions sound less synthetic (I think)
- better mastering
- I add a bit of volume to all the "japanese" intruments
