Upgrading dev video cards

HI!

For convenience, I was formerly known as tavariz91. I'm doing let's play on FLOSS games like STK, Minetest or 0AD. I was at the Japan Impact 2016 and the Polylan 2016 in Lausanne to help Samuncle introduce the game to potential players, and to organize the tournaments. Remember the golden cup, I ordered it and took the photo published on twitter on feb 18th. ;). For the cool story, I was in a green pyjama you can slightly see in the cup's reflect when I took it.
Samuncle told me (approximate translation)
The STK Team will proably buy some hardware
so am I here :) (To any moderator, please note it means it's not a spam ;) ) to give you a proposal (I already did the same on my last video for my followers, without any result for now).

As you may know, nvidia released the GTX1080, allowing nerds to have more and more FPS ingame. The good news for "poor" gamers is: the 980 costs less and less in second-hand market. :?
I bought for myself 2 GTX 980 that were in SLI, but I will use one only since it's more than enough. I can play STK absolutely smoothly (~55fps in 2560x1440, in ultra.).
Now, it means I have a GTX 980 and a GTX 760 available for sale. As I really adore STK, it would be a pleasure for me to sell them for not that much money to any dev who wants to upgrade their working place.

My prices:
-- GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 980 4GB WINDFORCE 3X (quite big) OR nvidia GTX 980 founder's edition (heats more but is smaller) --> 300CHF (Swiss franc) // 270€
-- MSI GeForce GTX 760 Twin Frozr GAMING 2GB --> 120 CHF // 110€

I can give a SLI bridge if someone needs it too.

I don't know at all what are second-hand prices in your country and maybe you can find cheaper, but IF these offers are good or useful to one of you, I would be glad to help a bit the project by selling them to you.
To contact me, you can send a mail to g u i p o i AT y a h o o . f r (of course, without the spaces and the AT replaced with the good sign).

I will sell them on auction with these prices as a start on monday 4th July if nobody's interested here or on my YT channel. Thanks for reading :).

Hi, Cyberpangolin!
I know you from Youtube. ;) I have watched some videos posted by you (mainly ST and Supertux).

Unfortunatelly, not. For Brazilians standards, your prices are super cool. I mean really cheap! :p The new little monster GTX 1080 costs from R$ 3.897,90 (€ 1080.80, coincidence  ) which is a Galax Geforce GTX 1080 Entusiasta EXOC 8GB DDR5X 256Bits and the most expensive, by R$ 4.197,90 (€ 1164.00), what is cheaper than the most expensive GTX GTX 980 (EVGA GTX 980 TI KINGPIN 6GB DDR5 384Bits 06G-P4-5998-KR), for sale by R$ 4.992,90 (€ 1246.06).

An used GeForce GTX 760 is being sold for R$ 700,00 (the cheapest one: Zotac Ddr5 2gb 256 Bit), R$ 700 = € 194.7176, but a Gtx 760i Twin Frozr, 4 Gb, Ddr5, is for sale by R$ 900 (€ 249.54). Two times more expensive. However, the big deal for a Brazilians would be your GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 980 4GB. The cheapest new I have found costs R$ 2.184,90 (R$ 2184 = € 605.69):
http://www.kabum.com.br/produto/60178/p ... 0wf3oc-4gd (I have seen other users psting links here, but I don't know if links for stores are allowed :? )

An used, costs from R$ 1.700,00 (€ 471.56) until R$ 2.000,00 (€ 554.7773).

We pay more 60% for imported items, not included the profit for the store and the market concurrence in Brazil, which turns everything more expensive (instead the normal way the laws of economics works in the rest of the world  :? ). So, even if the item is randomly handpicked by the computers of Brazil Federal Treasure agents, the buyer will pay about R$ 1.560,00 (€ 404.9762). In other words: your GC will cost cheaper than the cheapest Brazilian similar GPU. A good deal!

What's my point? Simple: IMO,the best place to try a sell is Brazil. You may try to sell yours in some Brazilian site. I know one (it's like ebay), but I don't know if I can put the link here.

The AMD RX 480 FPS/dollar benchmarks on Linux might be of interest...

Of course, that's comparing the price of brand-new cards.

I took French class when I was at the 5th grade, but we hosted a French girl in our home years ago. Anyway, Portuguese and French have a common origins, so, just a bit of good will is enough to understand many phrases.
