I would start with a simple test if more than 4 wheels on a kart can be done. Tracked tyres may also be a problem since the wheels a seprarate objects.

cool
I was thinking to use empty for character without wheels like bugzilla(ladybug) too
And making animations for stray (like walk cycle)
... in a far future

Ik know they made a tyreless kart before (the GNU), but it had some troubles. You could have a look at that kart before trying the ladybug.

AFAIK the GNU kart has the same wheels as the Tux kart; they only made the wheels and suspension invisible.

Arthur: suspension is never visible anyway

More than 4 wheels can be done, though some of them will not rotate.
About tracked tyres, I don't think it can be done for now

@Rudy -Great ideas.
@developers - Would it be feasible to support something like a motorcycle in the future?

Pixel: the look wouldn't be hard, but the physics yes

I guess we would be talking about version 1.x or something if no one else steps in and do the work required - kart with 4 wheels and motorcycle with 2 is just a tiny little bit far from each other in terms of physics.

It would be hard to make sure the motorcycles don't fall to one side without unrealistic look, or making them slide in sharp turns correctly

Also, the front end would have to be animated to rotate (steer) with the turn.
I was afraid it wouldn't be easy. I do think other types of vehicle should eventually be supported, but it looks like the physics will need
to be redone first.

The wormux kart looks like a nice idea, maybe I'll work on it

Not a so good idea actually, because "Wormux" no longer exists

(now it's Warmux, and there are no worms in it

)
