are the standard karts also availableas .blend files?
because i'd like to create some new karts based on existing ones ...

all our standard karts (and more, e.g. tracks and uncompressed versions of all textures) are contained in our media repository: http://sourceforge.net/p/supertuxkart/c ... dia/trunk/ . You can download from the web interface, or with an SVN client download the whole repository from http://svn.code.sf.net/p/supertuxkart/code/media/trunk
