2D artist needed for kart icons

Welcome :)
That's nice ! In my opinion this is what should change:
-Delete this kind of "white gloss" on her hair.
-Her hairs should be longer like in the previous icon at the top of the thread
-In my opinion you can use color gradients that's not a problem
-You should make her smile a very very little bit.
That's all

Another try, keep in mind that the expression is mostly forced by the style, with this kind of eyes will always look a bit astonished.

Great :) ! i think we have it.

Can you just try color gradient for her skin, just to make a comparison even if this is already very good imho (we will wait for other opinions)

Edit: if you copy your lastest icon on your desktop, you will see you forgot to delete something white insid your image

I'm still not convinced. The icon looks strange. Can you try to separate eyes just to see what happens

Yes, I forgot to remove and object.
I'm not a fan of the joined eyes too, but I simply can't separate them since they are a clear distinguishing style trait of all the other icons.

What i s a bit weird is that she looks a bit worried. The shape on the back of hear head is also a little strange maybe? Maybe it would be possible to borrow the general outlines of the icon posted in the first topic of this thread, and just adapt it to fit the guidelines?

I'll give it a last try later,
I dont like the idea of adapting or tracing someone else's artwork, but please go ahead if you think that will work better.

I think the worried expression might be cause by the shape of the eyebrows.

I didn't mind the short hair. Your first (perhaps the second) try was the best imo, the only thing I didn't like were the eyelashes. (I mentioned eyebrows before.. but I meant eyelashes. I confuse those in English.)

I totally see your point about the expression, but if you have the eye pupil totally expose that will always result in a look of worry/surprise.
I tried a to push the "smile" a little more, if that does not work then I must admit my failure

bye!

Do people have opinions? I would welcome more opinions!

Here is what it looks like in game. My intent is not to discourage you, but unfortunately I still find that something is not quite right, but I couldn't exactly say what

first of all it looks a bit bigger than the others, but that is not a problem, you can resize it

and for me hair isn't best, for me hair looks too big compared to the rest
and the style isn't best for me, it could be improved a bit.
the style of the blue ribbon doesn't fit to the rest for me

(the ribbon looks more "sharp", like the icon from hexley
and the rest looks a bit more "unsharp", like the icon from suzanne)

I feel that iìve entered some kind of infinite loop... i'll let someone else try.

From the image posted (tnx Auria) i see that mine is a little bigger (tnx rubberdick) and that the pupils should be the same size instead of being scaled.
Another thing that can be changed are the outlines that can be darkened.

Looking at the picture you see that (apart form mine) there are 3 icons slighly differente from the others's style:

hexley (thin black outline on the hat), the ballon fish (sharp edges), and the monkey (frontal view)

Bye!

i have an idea, but i don't know if this is really good.

My idea is, that you make kart icons with blender freestyle.

when you have a special blend-file with special settings (lighting, standard settings and standard usable materials), the style of all icons should not be so different.

i don't know if you can get a good style for kart icons, i haven't tested yet.

 and the red car in the "random car" icon looks a bit like a pokeball

is there now a new standard, because eyes look not like others,

is it planned to re-do all other icons or not?
