The race track in the stadium (I assume that's the one you are referring to) was suffering from many many shortcuts.

Also be careful with too many up-s and downs: uphill sections tend to be boring (slower driving), in downhill sections the kart might be hard to control (if it's jumping up and down a bit, the kart might not have contact with the road all the time).

against shortcuts or cheating there are three things:

1:checklines

2: these walls also shold prevent cheating

3: resetplanes, if you want to jump down to take a shortcut, you will reset

That's not really our preferred way: we use checklines, but only in order to prevent obvious short cuts (e.g. think of just driving a tiny circle crossing the lap line again and again). Otherwise we never introduced a mechanism to inform players about checklines, and prefer it this way. Getting a lap not counted because a missed checkline is a complain we often get (and we fix up any such problems as soon as possible).

2: these walls also shold prevent cheating

3: resetplanes, if you want to jump down to take a shortcut, you will reset

Sure. Though ideally (and that's certainly not the case in all tracks) we would like to have a hidden shortcut, as long as it is balanced (e.g.hard to find, hard to drive).

modelling isn't really ready, because there are some small issues and will improve some other things.

And textures aren't final at the moment

It looks very good! The name Racetrack doesn't really fit what you made, I would suggest building a mountain around it with tunnels, driving on ledges and valleys/gorges under the bridges, and calling it Mountain Rally or something. Don't forget to add a decent number of presents and nitro, the old racetrack suffered from not having enough of either.

Nice track! The pillars & stone textures make it look like it could have a roman colosseum type thing next to the track, or go through its arches . :)

i worked on my track, but lighting isn't perfect jet:

>> better uv-cordinates/unwrapping (done)

>> it's a bit dark at the moment

>> shadows softer and not so dark (done)

>> better color

>> adding more lightbeams(where the rings are)

Are you sure, shortcutting is not possible on this track, because it pretty much looks like that ?
btw, nice track !

i added some resetplanes, they should also prevent taking shortcuts

for testing i made the resetplanes visible ( in red ), so i can test, if there are hidden shortcuts

i also have walls for that
