New Track: Human (circle of friend)

Hello,

This is a map i tried to do for stk 0.7.3. I think the map is close to be finished, but I have a bug with textures.
When I've made the map, I've placed all the textures in the map folder. The textures was good. Then I want to use the original textures of the game, and replace all texture copies by the original location in Blender (the map is in data/track/human). In Blender, I can see that this change works, but now I cannot see some textures in-game. You can see above the difference, and I join you the two map archives: the first that works, and the second that didn't...
I don't know if its important: I use Blender 0.64a and stk 0.7.3 under Ubuntu 12.04.

Where is the .blend file? It should be in the track's folder with all paths relative on to mimic the climate that the b3d will be in. At least that's the cause of my problems that look like this.

Is "All paths relative"? Try making them absolute and see if it works.

Oh, and nice track, I like it.

No, always use relative paths, at least if you want to share the blend file with anyone, or the textures will simply not show up in Blender for them.

I know. I just want him to try it just to find out if that's the problem.

You might want to check if ALL the paths are relative. Sometimes Blender will do weird things and I'll end up with the white screen.

FYI, STK doesn't use Blender paths for textures. They will be looked for in the data/tracks/<trackname> folder and in the data/textures folder.

Hmmm, that doesn't explain why Make All Paths Relative works... But if what you say is true it's the end of my troubles! :D

Does it look okay in the .blend (Blender)?

Please check the setting for the drawing distance... The top image looks like that setting may be too low. The view distance should be large enough to be able to see all the way from one side to the other.

P.S. "Circle of Friend"? How can one friend form a circle? Would "Circle of Friends" or "Circle of Friendship" be better?

I like that idea too. The Circle Of Friends would also be good.

Ok, I think this is the problem: I tried to use textures from other maps with relative links. Now I will just use textures from the "textures" directory and the map directory.

Thank you all for this help, I'll post the map when it is ready (the .blend is in the archive, if you would play with it).

PS: of course it is circle of friends ;)

I always thought that was what the Ubuntu logo was. And of course Ubuntu is the word for... something about friendship.

Hi

indeed you cannot use textures from other tracks. You may only use textures in your track directory, or global textures from /data/textures.

Thank you for your help and review.

This is a fixed version of the map: http://lkiefer.org/stk/20121209/circleoffriends.zip
I've tested it with STK0.7.3 and all textures are shown. I've added a license.txt file, and released my model under CC-BY-SA 3.0 :by: :sa:

Just one thing I don't understand: the map use the picture 'city_metal.png', which is not included in the track or "textures" directory, but is from the stadium folder  and it seem works...

Now, I wish share my track as an extension in STK, but I don't know how to do that...
