retexturing skyline

Postby Binky » 27 Aug 2012, 18:56

Firstly, Is anyone else working on this?
Secondly, Are all the texture images being hidden somewhere?
There are a couple of buildings I can't find the textures for in ...tracks/skyline/
Will upload progress so far soon :)

I think I've found most of the texture file, although there are a lot of redundant images in there (?)
(I've also messed up many of the names by only editing the images)

Hello, there is my opinion :

Globally better, especially flying urban transport

I dislike : gimp building pavement, inside building (tunnel), and the pink sky was rendering better than the basic blue

What would suggest for the gimp building? I think something a little unusual would be nice
Should the inside of the tunnel be the same as the rest of that building?
I'd kinda like to add outlines of buildings bettween the sky and the models in the track (so as to get parralax scrolling of some sort)

could you upload the .blend also?
Some people are like slinkies... not really good for anything, but you still can't help smiling when you shove them down the stairs.

I've done a new texture for the inside of the tunnel (line the rest of the building, but fades to grey in the middle)
I've created a new pink clouds texture, but I can't think of something good for the gimp building.
Any ideas anyone?

What about a skybox similar to this one? (attached)
from http://www.3delyvisions.com/skf1.htm, I did not make it.

I added a downwards image because the original download didn't have one.

How would one go about changing the way the sky is textured?
atm, its the same image on each face of the cube. this is not really ideal

I don't think we use those, they don't have a clear license statement so it's unclear if it's allowed to include them in an open-source game

I had a short and very friendly e-mail exchange with the artist, who decided to license the art under cc-by 3.0 for convenience! :D
