Hi,
This topic is the continuation of this topic : http://oldforum.freegamedev.net/index.php?t=msg&th=3025&start=0&S=58513d58fa6e14ccaac9f4024fe4c5ea
I assume you mean the track exporter and the missing colours.

No, I mean the B3D exporter.
I post another screenshot where the bug is more visible.
I joined the zip of the kart Eviltux who doesn't work.

Adiumy <------------already in
AUDAcity <------------already in
Cobra <------------already in
Mriceblock <------------already in
Skirpy <------------already in

Duke <------------ the licensing is incorrect (mainly, it uses the java logo, and even pretends it's released under CC-BY-SA, which it's not), thus this kart is illegal and we cannot use it

Bambou Updated
Python Updated
--> No harm intended but I'm not sure these karts fit the game

Gooey Updated
Mozilla Updated
--> What's new about them? Since they are main game karts, if there's improvements to them then we'll include these improvements in the main game

Chinchila New
Rinky New
Bigbuckbunny Updated Drivable
Proog New
--> I am still pondering with the idea of making a "blender" package, so then probably they should go inside that blender package

I'm talking about file 'cup_Sphere.002.rgb'. The Duke is free to use, but not the java logo

Ever since I installed this package I get these messages:
WARNING: texture 'Python.png' not found.
WARNING: texture 'hair.png' not found.

Which kart is producing these errors?

Hi all,

seems that somehow this thread got a bit sidetracked ;) Back to the original subject: I think the animations we have in STK so far are not really ideal. The main problem is that you can usually see karts only from behind, and it is often very difficult to notice the animation at all. With one kart (can't remember which one atm) I actually had to use the reverse camera to see the animation at all. Is it just me having this problem? I think the turning animation must be more exaggerated(?).

Cheers,
Joerg

I think the turning animation must be more exaggerated(?)

Could you take it for the moment I will take a look in a future time.

Problem is that I'm making winning animation too , and improving existing track and I'm going back to work

I send you .blend files
I propose :
Key 1 driving position
Key 2 Repeat
Key 3 Ending animation

Think to making a loop to repeat animation
and It's good to ajust speed for each character ( I'm working in 2 computer with different capacity and results may be differents )

[EDIT ]Think to make a camera following and turning around character which is driving alone guided by drivelines [EDIT]

Hi Rudy,

sorry for the delay in answering, we are just too busy atm.

Sure, I have to verify if all animations have been added yet, sorry, we are focusing on getting an alpha release out, and were fighting with i18n.

No pressure - you don't have to do everything, certainly other can and will help out and be able to use your experience

That should be handled by irrlicht.

Yes, we definitely need something like this. As a quick and easy start we can use the end camera, since it will display the character for most of the time. But a MK-like camera probably looks better - we have to see how to do this. E.g. the camera could smoothly move around and ahead of the kart, or just switch to the new position (which is what MK does).

One comment: all animations for one character should be in one file, e.g. frame 1-3 for turning left, then turning right, then winning, then losing (in whatever order), since STK will (atm) only load one (animated) model. We then just have to change the frames to play.

What is also most possible needed is that the computer drives your kart after you finish (and while playing the winning animation) - in a simple, non-competitive fashion.

Thanks for the work!
Joerg

Can it be possible to make it like this ? :

1 Turning left
11 Relax
21 Turning right

31 Relax (start point of animation)
101 Point of repetition ( If any )
151 Ending Winning

201 Relax (again)
231 Point of repetition ( If any )
271 End loosing
