Hi,

rudy85 {l Wrote}:Here it is !

yes, that worked - great. I've added it to svn. I had to rename the markers for the animations (to left, straight, right, start-animation, end-animation), but that's about all. We have to fix a few issues with the exporter.

Cheers,
Joerg

I 'll send you an old model which bones are linked to face ,and vertices are shared by 2 bones .

It will take less work for me to change them
 If problem was only that kart must be of an unique mesh

So I'm waiting about apologies ;)

This model get 2 defaults :
material , and vertices shared

It's important to know and Eliminate problems

Taking out of context it might be easy to misunderstand (and just for the record: I was talking about myself not having enough blender experience, not of you). To finish the quote:
At this stage I would prefer leaving this to people with more blender experience. ... Rudy, could you perhaps try?

So I certainly wasn't saying that you had not enough blender experience.

IIrc adiumy gets out of the kart, which doesn't fit with the (current) ending where the karts keep on driving.

Ok , like Auria said there's no shape bugs ?

About animation , what do you want to say ?
Does it the same with blender playback ? (alt+A to play scene )

What's hurry ?

must I finish "losing animations" or do you want characters in few days ?
and what kind of animation you want after ?

I would say winning animations first; but the animations must also look nice when the kart is still moving, because in the end of the race, the kart does not stop. And also we have the problem with the B3D exporter and/or irrlicht animation system

Hi,

I am currently working on a branch, fixing some more fundamental problems we have. So it will be a few days at least before I can do anything about the losing animations. So you have time, as long as I have one example to test (which iirc Adiumy is), I can get everything prepared.

Otherwise as Auria mentioned: the winning/losing animation will be played while the kart is still driving. Having a look at adiumy again, it might work, but I (or preferably someone else) should see the animation in game (though the end animation still needs improvements, the camera is too shaky atm).

Thanks!
Joerg

Hi,

I finally got around to check these animations. Unfortunately, I hit many bugs in the kart exporter (yeah, STK is like that atm xD) so I couldn't commit any of them. But here are some general comments :

* Adiumy : great losing animation; I'm not sure about winning however, because the kart will still be moving when the animation is played. Also he does a weird flip near frame 98. It's also maybe not a good idea to make him come out of the kart because then you see he has no legs ;)
* elephpant is good (and already committed a while ago)
* eviltux : he has issues, the rig doesn't seem to work, the skeleton moves but not the model
* gooey : the animation is good. the texturing makes him a bit more interesting. however the new texturing og
the kart makes it very flat.
* gnu : animation OK
* hexley : great!
* mozilla : good animation. the textures are broken but that should be easy to fix (mozilla is pink here)
* mr ice block : animation is good, but the wiki says the ending animation must be loop-able, so not sure it can work
* puzzy : seems good too!
* tux : animation ok. the rig could use with improvements, his arm and chest get a bit weirdly distorted
* wilber : animation ok. but not sure it will fit. remember the kart will continue moving when the animation is played

In general, also make sure to respect the markers on the wiki. In many locations, you use "Start-Winning" when it needs to be "start-winning" (I'm pretty sure case matters)

PLease , I'm finishing losing animation for everyone it takes me less than a month

So , I made each character different with an unique winning and losing animation :!:

I know that characters out of the kart , but armature is a succession of bones where one won't move if parent don't , I named the bone base of the structure kart , so if kart running the track then character are following the same way (if not , it will be a problem for future animation)

I must joining different mesh in an only one

Animations I've sent was to told to you that I 'm working

Hi,

The actual frame numbers do not matter - just specify the corresponding marker names in blender, and they will be exported and used.

...
rudy85 {l Wrote}:31 Relax (start point of animation)
101 Point of repetition ( If any )
151 Ending Winning

The winning/losing animation are just repeated over and over, I don't think that we need a special end-of-animation code to be used. So for now I would leave it with just the loop (in your example frames 31 to 101).

Cheers,
Joerg

I'll send My work in one or two weeks

At this stage :
50% are already totaly finished
45% are 75% finished

The last 5% Is Frankie that I'm using to make a video tutorial but It's Long :
Video 1 for creating an armature
Video 2 to Assign vertices group to a Bone
Video 3 To show how Animate

I realize that It's so much (I can do it so , but It takes many time)
To give you Frankie as soon as possible I will do all my screen capture first

Kart which will be animate In this package
Adiumy,Audacity,Bambou,BigbuckBunny,Chuck,Chinchila,DrEvil(Eviltux),ElePHPant,Gnu,Gooey,Hexley, Mozilla,Mriceblock,Nolok,Plee the bear(Teddy)Proog,Python,Rinky,Tarentula,Tux,Wilber

Here we are :) , I made the 24 first character's animations

To Hiker : I had a bad new and a good new

The bad : I 've used very low poly items to make animations rich and singular , so if you've seen the video ,
You found something disturbing : this items may hit the race from top , front or rear.
"There" , it would be important to get all the character's bones unsolid except bone "kart" to keep collisions

The good : If you could make this , you could add a New Bonus unlock-able : Big heads

How I do to "Animations markers" :

1 Turning-L
21 Center
41 Turning -R

Start-winning
Repeat-winning
End-winning

Start-losing
Repeat-losing
End-losing

Sometimes Repeat losing doesn't exist then you have to replay all the animation (it would better to add a tempo 3-5 sec  )

I made animation repetitions to fix animation in a point then the loops is between 2 sames positions

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now I will sleep because I made a white night to polish this stage
Catapult arrive soon , and some weeks later : Frankie

Some tests are needed
:)
