Nice model. I agree with Auria that some areas might need "toned down" a bit, but very high quality anyway. I don't think she should be used as a racer in the core game, but would be nice as a bystander or addon racer. ;)
I also thought the blue skin was a little odd. I think the skin color should be somewhat normal.

This is a graphics feature so i hope this is the right place (first post) I played Super Tux Kart recently and I noticed that one of the things that the game seems to lack is support for animated skyboxes? I don't know if this is something the engine doesn't do, or if the first few unlocked levels just lack it. I started to think about ways this could be improved and I came up with a few ideas. Obviously an animated skybox could be done, but this might not be the best idea. Skyboxes need to be made at the using the width of the screen resolution as both the X/Y sizes. So if your screen is 1920x1080 it needs to be a 1920x1920 texture. This is obviously quite large and would not scale well. Rather than using a single large texture, maybe having a gradient used instead is a better way to go, this could also be used to simulate sunrise/sunset if the gradient is written to track the sun's position across the screen....

I'd also like to see some white fluffy clouds moving across the screen, maybe some simple sprites with transparency that can move around on a slow animation path overlaying each other. This should look a lot better than a static background image.

I love animated sky :). Sky is really something I enjoy doing. I agree with you we should have a way to animated the sky.

Currently there are several issue, we can already do clouds moving to some degree, but separate from the skybox.

It's also not easy because we use the skybox for other things (like image based light), so it might not be easy to modify the texture. For the sun we are currently working on it to be able to modify with a script.

Hi all,

I was thinking it would be very nice to include the extra cute llama from caminandes (http://www.caminandes.com/) in STK. This character would give a really nice kart! What do you guys think?

IMO Mystic island would look nice in the new engine
Rudy's old icetrack also has potential and although we have Northern Resort, we could use another snow/ice track

I have tried my hand at track making and 3d modelling, but I don't have it in me

I think Mastodon's mascot would be a great inclusion, especially since the PHP Elephant isn't in the game anymore. We need more pachyderms! :D

I had an idea for a track...how about a theater/auditorium? Part of it could go backstage, part of it could go on the catwalks, etc. Maybe a bit too labor intensive, to make all that in Blender...or maybe that's just me being a detail guy :)

I had the idea of a track in the mall, and I already have quite a few ideas for that. One idea I had was for the track design, I was thinking there should be several ways you can go. I had the idea of having two floors, where the higher track maybe could be a glass walkway? And then it could go downstairs into a clothing store with fashion models...penguin fashion models. :D And the store should be called...PENNY'S! :lol: :lol: Okay, other than that, I think that there should be some sort of hard-to-find path that doesn't even show up on the map, like the one in Shiny Suburbs (I thought that was so cool, love the idea, please make more of these! ;) ) If you want me to draw some pictures of what I had in mind I can show you...

Maybe a track on a boat at the shore?
It would have a happy feel to it, like the karts are on a racing vacation.

Hello all. Here are two ideas.

- Track specific slowdowns - replace banana with snow pile on snow tracks
- Add New Karts: Baby Tux and Baby Gnu. etc.

I was thinking, as Geeko, the mascot of openSUSE didn't really get a chance to appear in default character selection, and is one of the better known mascots in the free software universe, maybe it should get a chance with a slightly more fitting design. I went with maybe slightly outlandish idea for design, because it is steering on slightly different principles, but it still fit's the game's artstyle and current direction. I have no idea how to use blender, so I went with shots of Geeko from different angles, here they are (although forum definitely doesn't like big images, but you can still see full size on right click ;) )

I have the idea of making a scratch kart and a raspberry kart. I dont know if this is possible because of the trademark stuff, but I try to find out more about that. Here are my design ideas:
