STKed 0.1: Getting serious

STKed 0.1: Getting serious

Postby stked » 06 Mar 2010, 00:48

Hi all,
I'm working on 0.1 and I need feedback, like feature requests, bugtrackers, and of course, contribs. But I have a question: Do you like this color scheme?
sshot-STKed.png

Do you have better ideas?
Thanks!
Kory
P.S. I have now idea how to put different pictures into Lazarus (like replacing that picture of Tux with a shinier one). Does anybody?

What toolkit are you using? I would recommend not setting any colors :)

Lazarus. Is this a problem?

stked {l Wrote}:Lazarus. Is this a problem?

Probably not :) I was just thinking of weirdos like me, who like their non-standard color schemes (example). I don't know if Lazarus inherits colors from GTK/KDE themes though.

Um, so what I'm saying is: If you're using some toolkit, better leave the colors as they are by default (if there are defaults that is) for non-games.

You kind of have to use Lazarus to compile STKed. I don't see a problem. If you mean nonstandard colors as in x-bit values (0000F856), I'm not using those. The blue color is called clGradientActiveCaption.

Hi all,
I really need to know what bit of code tells STKed to put quotation marks around the model names in the .loc file. If this command is disabled, I can enable power-ups. Can someone help?

I would encourage you to:
1. add the website link to your sig (not that obvious to go to your website to find the stked website)
2. use a better project host - code.google.com would be good for you

The reason for #2 is that it would give you SVN and an easier way to point directly to a source file online without having to jump into the .7z first.

I am happy to announce the latest and greatest feature of STKed 0.1: new terrains! :D

I'm currently working on the next feature, Level 2. Think of it as a bridge over the bridge over the ground.

6 posts in a row now. I'm here to announce the next feature: a choice of music. A radio button represents each song in the music folder of STK.

I just played around with STKed 0.4 but its not possible to test the tracks in game. STK 0.6 is just not starting up with one of the self created tracks and in the alpha version it doesn't show up. So for which version of STK is your editor?
There are also some pictures missing on your page: http://stked.webs.com/howtouse.htm
It's a great idea to have such a nice simple editor.

0.6. STKed 0.1 should work a lot better for you when it's released. On the bright side, at least I know someone visits my site!

What does it mean, is it not the right 0.1 version on your web site?
I had a try with the 0.1 v and in STK 0.6 the track appeared but when I try to run it STK crashes.
So don't know...

After 2 weeks of being inactive (1 week of which I was camping, the other I've been working on my laptop hard drive), I've decided to pause STK Lite and put in scenery in STKed. I'll never be able to port STKed to 0.7 so most of the features I've been planning won't be implemented. Thanks for the trees, Rudy.

STKed can now export powerups correctly. I just need to add the music select portion to the export dialog and 0.1 will be just about ready for release.

I download the source for STKeD, and tried to compile it on my mac, and I ran the Windoze bin with WINE.

I took screenshots of them with the "mini.prj" loaded

I compiled 2 version for mac: QT4 & Carbon-- both STKeD binaries look very similar

This screenshot is from WINE

What functions does STKeD use that QT doesn't have yet?
