Here it is guys, the battle stage has announced called: Lincity Towers. It is a battle stage that sets in Downtown Lincity at nighttime surrounded by some towers. It consists of 1 big tower surrounded with 4 towers. It is similar to N64 Skyscraper from Mario Kart 64 and Mario Kart Wii.

Features:

1. Sets in Downtown Lincity at night filled with some towers.
2. 1 big tower with 4 sided towers.
- The main tower which is the Linux Building (the players start at that tower) with the spire.
- The red tower is the Ubuntu Tower, pink walls on each side of the tower for somewhere to hide.
- The yellow tower is the Blender Tower, a gold diamond-like structure with some bananas and items are on each side.
- The green tower is the GIMP Tower, 2 light green half-circle structures to make a getaway.
- The blue tower is the Audacity Tower, light blue structures on each side, but some items are there inside the area.
3. If you fall down from the tower, Thunderbird will pick you up and get you back to the main building.
4. Each side has metal bridges with glass domes in order to get to the sided towers.

I won't be able to do it on Blender cause of my computer, maybe someone can do it.
But I will be posting a 3D image soon which I will be doing on Google SketchUp.

One of the towers of the Lincity Towers battle arena has been revealed! It's the Audacity Tower which is known as the blue tower. It's the western tower from the Linux Building. Here are the features:

2 structures on each side.
There is a metal platform on top of the tower to get up.
Planning to add a pool of the tower soon.



3 more towers are coming soon.

Yeah, I agree, it sounds very intriguing. What about also having an outer circle you can drive on, which connects all the towers (except the main one in the middle) to each other? Just so that you won't have to turn around and drive back all the time after driving out on one of the towers.

I like the idea, so would be glad if this were made into reality.

Well I might do that, but I need to make it different so I don't want to copy the elements from N64 Skyscraper.

Another update for the arena, the next tower has been revealed! It's the Blender Tower, known as the yellow tower. It sets at the eastern side from the Audacity tower and the Linux Building. Here are the features:

Nothing but a gold diamond-like structure.
Added two poles on the rooftop.
Gonna be adding the Blender (only the logo) spots that have items in it on both of the cutted edges.




2 more towers are on the way and i'm gonna add something to the towers as well.

I have not played MarioKart to any significant extent, so my suggestion about the outer circle was only a matter of practicality.

Just a thought: I am not sure of the scale, but the driving space seems a little small? Design ideas are great, but if they don't work well in-game, they're not of much use.

It's just a 3D model of the actual stage in a medium scale. The real one will be larger.

OK, sounds good.
I could perhaps have a go at modelling this myself, but I am notoriously bad at self-discipline and thus might very well stop after a short while.
Besides, I have 2 projects I've already started on, but not finished - ought to do that before starting on more stuff.

Take your time, when you have some time, try viewing Lincity Towers. More updates soon.

Still isn't done, but look at the two towers that are connected to the Linux Building plus I added a spire as well. Remember, this is just a model of the actual arena. It will be bigger soon until the model is completed.

There are 4 pink walls on the tower, but the exception of the 1st one which has a hole in order to get in to the Linux Building.
The Ubuntu Logo as the main part of the tower.
Using the walls can protect your kart from other players, but the gap is high if you fall down.




Only 1 more tower to complete. Just stay tuned for the update.

So I guess the stage might be coming to the 3-strikes battle as an add-on or in the next STK version 7.4 update.

I have no idea whether this track would be fun to drive or not, but I really like the effort to be somehow "role-play" and in the theme of open source software

don't worry, the GIMP Tower is in the making. It will be fun to drive since it's a battle arena. It's gonna be bigger soon.

Here's the 4th update of the upcoming arena, the final tower has been revealed! It's the GIMP Tower, it's known as the green tower. Sets at the southern side from the Linux Building and the Ubuntu Tower. Here are the features:

It has a short ramp around the half circle structures.
The half circle structures have windows and some long green blocks that connects to each other.
More room to access the tower.




The towers are finally completed! But there will be more features coming up.

The stage is completed. Here's the actual stage, although it's still medium scale. Of course, I added something new. I now added some metal bridges to go from one tower to the next tower without turning around to the next one.






The features will be new which will be added in Lincity Towers.

It will be bigger than the actual model, the space of the tower will be much bigger.
Some caution borders around the edges of the arena.
Gonna add the city background soon.

Instead of just asking for participation, maybe you should upload your work somewhere so that people can start playing with it
An important point here with STK is to always state the license you want to use for publishing your work. If I'm correct, you can use whichever Debian Free Software Guidelines (DFSG)-compatible license you want (CC-By-SA, CC-By, GPL, LGPL, BSD). I think the preferred ones here are CC-By-SA (force people to redistribute modifications) and CC-By (don't force anything except keeping your name in the credits).

Maybe if I have time (which is not likely the case :/) I could try to import it into Blender and export to STK's format

Well I made the model using Google Sketchup. So I think it's best that I can post it on Megaupload and you can pick it up. If you download it, you can do some major changes of the stage. I'll post it soon.
