Perhaps making the rows not perfectly line up with each other? (i.e instead of all the odd rows of bricks being exactly the same, shift them randomly)

Hi, I'm currently working on this track, and I've modelled stepped pyramids, and I've painted a brick texture, I think the best way to avoid tilling problems with those pyramid is to use a fully painted texture which work to my mind at a resolution of 1024*1024. I know it's quite high, but I think the result worth the resolution's issue.

Ok as far as I can tell we need a bigger texture with less repeating to get a less obvious tiling. Different brick sizes do not really help.

@kalado:
Can you make a sloped pyramid with less repeating? The stepped one do not fit very well into the Egyptian theme.

What are thoughts on this guys? Maybe we can use the stepped one in the "amazonas journey"?

EDIT:

I have tryed to improve the version with the different brick size:

Hmmm... I am quite not really happy. But what do you think?

I find this better :) maybe it's just too much plain-colored, if you can add some background noise/bump to make the background less uniform I think it could be great

Please use an ad-free image hosting service; the pop-up on that german site is quite annoying.
I suggest http://imgur.com

Very cartoonish, I like this one !

But to be well integrated, the whole level would need to have the same style...

I like it. But there is a problem between the triangle hole and the texture.

I like the more comic-look style.

Not bad. The gradient is a bit strong but I'd have to see it in-game to be able to turn this into CC :)

Thanks for the preview!

Seems ok to me.
I think bump mapping could be welcome here, I don't know if we support it in STK...
