I would have to agree with Auria. I might also say that the percussion doesn't fit it. It fits a track like Sky Line not Black Hill Mansion.

It's also a bit to loud... You want a lonely, quiet sound.

Also the whine sounds a bit like a microphone to close to a speaker. It has a nice effect but doesn't fit.

Other then that I like it. :D

Sorry for taking ages, but here is my idea for new Shifting Sands music. ;)
I'm not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for so please comment on if you like it or not and what I should change. One thing I am worried about is that it might feel too repetitive if the player were to play on this track a whole lot. But remember that this is still no where near finished.
I hope you like it!...

Also, the reason the file name says Shifting Sands 2 is because I made music for shifting sands a while back but I didn't think it was good enough so i scrapped it. I like to think of this music as sort of a remastered version of it.

Hi,

there's some good ideas in there, but somehow I think it doesn't sound egyptian enough?

I found those. They are a bit too serious/deep for STK, but maybe some ideas can be obtained

or, somewhat less egyptian in origin, but very fitting for a STK-style game IMO ;)

I think the piece needs some flute... LOUDER then percussion.

Progress from me is probably going to be incredibly slow for the next week or so. I just have lots of other stuff I need to do and I haven't had much time to work on music recently. :( I hope you understand.

I agree about it needing the music to sound a bit more egyptian, I'll work on that when I can.
If you have any more ideas feel free to tell me. ;)

I am so sorry that I haven't posted to this topic in such a long time...
Unfortunately, I don't think I'm going to have the time to finish any more music. I may come back at a later date but for now I think I'm done. I currently just don't have enough time. :(

Take some updated Blackhill Mansion music instead. :)

from around 0:17 onward, it sounds good :) but I think the 16 first seconds sounded better in the version that's currently in the game :(

It sounds fine to me... is it that some of the notes need fixing?

Is it free? If not then maybe if you had a lot of money we could... nah, that would never work.

Oh, and why? We have two music contributors here (and they're pretty good).

Ozone: I think the notes around 0:02 - 0:06 sound less scary than before, not sure if you think that's something that can be fixed?

The problem is that if I change any of the notes they sound out of key, and that basically ruins the entire song.

We already do. Feel free to browse through and find more that could fit with the game.

I was referring to perhaps finding a different chord progression in the same key?

of course understand this is just nit-picking here, nothing major

I think that there are a few notes that are off at about:

0:53
1:00
1:40
1:52

They may sound off compared to the version that's been in the game recently. In fact the one that was in the game is mostly made up of 'off' notes, so this version will sound much better to people who have not heard the other version before.
Also, a few notes after 01:36 are made slighty off deliberately to give an uneasy feeling.
