Art museum update

rudy85 {l Wrote}:It works with a test file a little folder : this one
But not with artmuseum.7z (8.9 Mo)

I increased max file size to 15mb
I highly advise against megaupload (still better than rapidshare though). Instead I recommend http://www.mediafire.com/ or even better, http://box.net

Hi,

fantastic track - we would actually love to add it to stk (probably as a replacement for the beach track). A few things need to be done, as you are probably aware of:
  • Items.
  • Screenshot
  • Adding missing information to the id property fields (authors, music, ...)
  • Some tree leaves don't have transparency.
  • Maybe add a few plant pots.
  • We need the usual license information.

Cheers,

Hi,

this track looks good but the licensing is problematic.
The sky comes from http://www.flickr.com/photos/36654178@N06/3381639766/ and does not appear to be released under any open license.

brunocb-psychedetux-dali-8692 is released under "Non-Commercial" license, which the DFSG forbids.

I have not checked all others, there may be other issues.

And, even when the license is acceptable we need a License.txt file that gives :
1) who is the author of every file
2) what license is the file released under

Unfortunately, without correcting license information, we cannot legally include your track in STK

Here you can find Brunocb's work and licencing.
http://tux.crystalxp.net/fr.id.16461-br ... perle.html

This track is made , by tuxthepenguin#1 essentially , for supertuxkart so I think he accept your licence type
Contributors send their work on the old forum.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think You have to give the licence you want : if the work is sent in this forum or on stkaddons and if the author don't specify which licence he want.
Many people don't know what are the different licence, I think they just want THEM work should be integrated to the game.
FREE is my kind of licence
I'm like that

I understand what you mean, licenses are annoying, but we need to consider them, otherwise we are illegal.

Some of the work used in this track is not released under a free license so if we used it in STK we could get in trouble.

The main way to help with this track is to find the author of image included in this track, and which license it is released under (the main acceptable licenses are CC-BY-(SA) 3.0 and (L)GPL). Then for the images we do not have the right to use, we need to find a replacement.

Unfortunately I do not have time to do this myself

The old forum is online (read only), the original art museum track is at: http://oldforum.freegamedev.net/index.p ... b60d947d7e

Though the attachments aren't online anymore, but perhaps that will still help.

OK, I've started to assemble a list for the license details. I have removed textures which appear to come from STK (Rudy, do you know why your textures always have a slightly larger file size than our textures, even though they appear to be visually identical?). In bold items which might be a problem (e.g. non-commercial). Would it perhaps possible for one of the French speaking people here (Auria, Rudy?) to contact brunocb and ask him about that? Perhaps even ask him if he might want to contribute?

If anyone knows where any of the other textures come from and what license they need, please add to this list

Hi,

My contributions to this track are licensed under Creative-Commons-By-SA 3+.

I'll be sure and always specify a license when I contribute things in the future!

ps - I didn't see the Mondrian while I was racing the track... is it still there?

Cheers!
