Kart and Track Porting for STKAddons

Kart and Track Porting for STKAddons

Postby stked » 20 Feb 2010, 00:28

Hi all,
I will be porting karts and tracks from the add-on pack to 0.7 and submitting them to STKAddons. Who has some preferences on which I should start with or which will be easy?
P.S. It's good to have Internet again!

Hi,
You're right, port the addons to version 0.7 would be a very good idea :p .
But perhaps the authors of the addons could do that ?

So, to author of addons : Can you post here to say if you can (or can't) port your addons ? And maybe stked could port others addons ?

I think that port the karts will be easy but port the tracks ..... :?

PS : if you have some problem with site (bug, misspelling ...), please report them !

Karts are super easy to port. Tracks are super hard if the drivelines don't have equal amounts of points.

If that's the case, they were broken anyway and need to be fixed; STK 0.6 did not support tracks with unequal amounts of points in both drivelines

From my experience in STKed, that is not the case. You just receive a command line error message.

If the track editor creates this, then the track editor must be fixed. STK 0.6* prints a warning and ignores the additional drivelines, but it will lead to all kind of odd behaviour. In 0.7 it's impossible to have incorrect number of driveline points, since they are specified as quads, i.e. four points, and not as two list of points. The track exporter will print out some warning messages and not export this.

Cheers,
Joerg

I don't think I can continue STKed. I'm no programmer, and 0.7 is just too much :(
