Setting Fullscreen window to a secondary screen

Setting Fullscreen window to a secondary screen

Postby lamxuyen1234 » 05 Sep 2018, 05:54

Hello,

I am trying to get supertuxkart to run full screen on a second monitor that is not set as main. Could someone be kind enough to guide me on how I could change screen setting in the code?

Best,
xuyen

Hi, this is not possible from the UI. As for changing code, which OS are you using?

Assuming that it's on linux, there is:
https://forum.freegamedev.net/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=7946

and also:
https://github.com/supertuxkart/stk-code/issues/2995

And in the code it's in a loop in line 2185:
https://github.com/supertuxkart/stk-cod ... eLinux.cpp

You can duplicate that loop and get second connected output. And if there is no second output, then fallback to that original loop.

Maybe later I will add a possibility to change it using environment variable. So that you could use "export IRR_VIDEO_OUTPUT=HDMI-1". Or the easiest way is just to change primary monitor with xrandr command before launching STK. Something like "xrandr --output HDMI-1 --primary".

Ok I made some changes:
https://github.com/supertuxkart/stk-cod ... 977e51c69d

and now you can choose your monitor using environment variable, for example "export IRR_VIDEO_OUTPUT=HDMI-1". The output name can be read using xrandr command. And it's only for linux and I have no plans to add it to the GUI.
