How to use Addons in 0.7?

Hello!

I saw this website (http://stkaddons.tuxfamily.org/index.php) and now I'm wondering, how I can use these Karts and Tracks in SuperTuxKart 0.7.

What do I have to do to drive in the "Art museum" (the 0.7 Version) or with some of these Addon-Karts? I don't see a README and the Help-Button on this website doesn't help.

I found out about this website, because a german Linux-Newssite, Pro-Linux.de, wrote about it in the 0.7-release article. (see: http://www.pro-linux.de/news/1/16541/su ... geben.html [in german])

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

check http://supertuxkart.sourceforge.net/How ... ll_add-ons
( we hope to include an add-on installer directly inside the game soon, so stay tuned :) )

Please be patient,
I've ported 2 tracks (but not really finshed Icetrack Artmuseum ) 1 battle ( not really finshed ) and something like 10 karts...

I 'm stopped because we're checking about license
I will make a little free package (windows-ubuntu) before christmas and maybe a bigger during hollidays

You can already find all this features on this website ( I never told you this  )

Ah. That should be, instead of the "this page does not exist" thing, when I click on "Help". Maybe.

Sounds good. :)

I can't. I'm using Arch Linux to get the most updated software in Linux, nice and bleeding edge. I can't wait for new tracks or karts, even if they are not finished. :p

So, there is a battle arena track you said? Hm....

Should just placing the additional karts and tracks in their respective folders make them already available in the game? I tried to make addons packages for Chakra, but nothing changes in the game. Still same karts and tracks.

Well, I tried it and only got Chuck (BSD) and MrIceblock working. 0.7 Frankie, Artmuseum (0.7) and Volcano didn't work.

Many of the add-ons currently available are outdated and won't work with 0.7 stable; there will be a need to do cleanup there

When I try to copy the track "art museum" (for STK 0.7) into the track-directory, i became this message in the terminal:

{l Code}: {l Select All Code}
Linux 2.6.36-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Dec 10 20:01:53 UTC 2010 i686
[FileManager] Data files will be fetched from: '/usr/share/supertuxkart/'

[TrackManager] Warning: track 'artmuseum' is not supported by this binary, ignored.
Error messages and other text output will be logged to /home/user/.config/supertuxkart/stdout.log and /home/user/.config/supertuxkart/stderr.log

So, what can i do?

Regards lignux

PS: Sorry, for my english...

You have to edit track.xml and change version 2 to 3
Something like this

That is possible, but it is better to re-export the track from blender using the latest track exporter.
