PS: uh oh, I just upload a slightly-modified Simplified Chinese translations on Launchpad one hour ago :| , solved the problem about auto word-wrapping with Chinese characters... so is this update won't avaliable until next release?

Yes, that didn't make it. We updated the translations several hours ago, it takes quite a while to do the necessary tests etc. It will certainly be included in the next release, and that will certainly be a lot quicker than 0.7.

Thanks!

Congratulations! And please update the "downloads" section on the website. --> http://supertuxkart.sourceforge.net/Dow ... ader_linux

Besides the 0.6 packages: The package for Arch Linux is in [community] repository. A "pacman -S supertuxkart" is all you need. :-)

[KartSelectionScreen] WARNING: The focus dispatcher can't find the widget for player 0!

Thanks, updated Arch Linux entry.
Other Linux packages will be updated as packagers produce STK 0.7 packages for the various distros

Can you run STK in gdb and provide a backtrace? Otherwise there's little we can do

Regarding the warning, it's a known annoyance but is harmless

i tried to install it on a friends computer (windows xp) and if i start it i get a message like "couldn't be started because the configuration is incorrect. try to install it again!". of course installing it again doesn't help. :) what could be the reason for this?

The uninstaller doesn't remove everything. Have you tried deleting the C:\Users\MyProfile\AppData\supertuxkart folder (with your profile name in stead of MyProfile of course)?

Hiker, is it possible to add to the windows uninstaller a "also remove settings & highscores" checkbox?

there isn't any supertuxkart folder left anywhere in those user directories after uninstalling. there also isn't one after installing actually. strange! i can't get it to work on this computer.

Did you try to run with administrator privileges? Maybe that will work.

Excellent! Thank you all for the amazing version!

I've upload a FreeBSD package to SourceForge and update the FreeBSD download area in the wiki.

Could someone build a static package for Linux?

Did you install the VS and OpenAL dependencies?

Do you get any messages printed if you start stk from a command line window?

Otherwise: try downloading the dependency walker (http://www.dependencywalker.com/), and run it on the executable. Notice that some warnings/errors from the walker are normal (see FAQ on that page).

the only message printed on the command line is that the program cannot be run.

dependency walker says that
MSVCP90.DLL
MSVCR90.DLL
MSJAVA.DLL
are missing. but shouldn't the first two be installed by this redist stuff of the installer? what is msjava.dll?

it also says this:

Error: The Side-by-Side configuration information for "d:\supertuxkart\SUPERTUXKART.EXE" contains errors. Diese Anwendung konnte nicht gestartet werden, weil die Anwendungskonfiguration nicht korrekt ist. Zur Problembehebung sollten Sie die Anwendung neu installieren (14001).
Error: The Side-by-Side configuration information for "d:\supertuxkart\OPENAL32.DLL" contains errors. Diese Anwendung konnte nicht gestartet werden, weil die Anwendungskonfiguration nicht korrekt ist. Zur Problembehebung sollten Sie die Anwendung neu installieren (14001).
Error: At least one required implicit or forwarded dependency was not found.
Warning: At least one delay-load dependency module was not found.
Warning: At least one module has an unresolved import due to a missing export function in a delay-load dependent module.

msjava should be no problem (see also http://www.dependencywalker.com/faq.html). But the first ones should be available after installing the Microsoft VS redistributables. I have no idea what the problem is. On my machines those files are in /WINDOWS/winsxs/x86_Microsoft; but they might be in /WINDOWS/system32 - not sure, since I have VS installed.

Perhaps you might need completely different redistributables? Could you try downloading and installing the redistributables from scratch? What system/OS is that exactly? Perhaps 64 bit?

it's 32bit windows xp with sp3.

i had to download and install the 2008 vcredist. now it works.

why does the stk installer include the 2005 vcredist (if i remember this correctly)?

I forgot, SuperTuxKart 0.7 is available in the games repository of Chakra (GNU/Linux), same command to install it as Arch Linux's :)
