Translation of the game

Hello. I began to translate the game to the Tatar language, but I had some problems. The file AR_PL_SungtiL_GB0.png otsutstvubt some desired letter, although font0.png file (data \ editor \ font) they are. This letter Ә, ә, Һ, һ, Ө, ө, Ң, ң, Җ, җ Ү, ү. Do not tell me how to do? I can increase the size of the image down and add these letters, but I have not figured out how to give me the coordinates in the file StkFont.xml.
At this point in the game translated works, but in place of these letters - a void.

Я могу увеличить размер изображения вниз и добавить туда эти буквы, но я не понял, как давать мне координаты в файле StkFont.xml.
На данный момент в игре перевод работает, но на месте этих букв - пустота.
Заранее спасибо за помощь.

New Supertuxkart will use freetype font rendering, ie no font png will be used

You can test your new translation with supertuxkart git:

Feel free to tell if tatar is still rendered incorrectly

Not enough letters: Ә, ә, Һ, һ, Ө, ө, Ң, ң, Җ, җ Ү, ү. In the file font0.png these letters are, in the file AR_PL_SungtiL_GB0.png does not.

Are you working on translations for next stable version? If yes, could you check the current git version? We are using ttf fonts now, and it shouldn't be a problem anymore. If there are still some missing characters, then we should just use different font.

Sorry, i do not fully understand you. I am translate the game version 0.9.1. There are letters are graphically (letters in the picture, and each of them has the coordinates in the text-file).
With translation file i have not problems, in the game the Tatar language is show. Does not show only those letters that I cited above.
I could give you my translation file, in order to you to see for yourself, or pictures from the game to your email address if you pass it to me.
Sorry for the mistakes in the text, english i am know very badly :(

Hi, I don't speak Russian but I got someone else to write this answer for you, hopefully it will clear things up. :)

Если вы планируете перевод для следующей релизной версии, то рекомендуем использовать текущий git - репозиторий, так как текущая версия и будущий релиз используют шрифты FreeType (ttf, которые поддерживают указанные символы) и png шрифты уже являются устаревшими.

Arthur, since what version did you start to use FreeType fonts? Seems like in 0.9.1 there are some problems displaying special symbols. (as Bulat said). Btw, are there any ppas for STK?

Для работы над переводом игры ребята советуют использовать версию игры для разработки, которая лежит в репозитории git. Тут всё зависит от того, какую систему ты используешь, винду или линукс. А, ну и вся соль использования версии из репозитория в том, что там сделали другой способ отрисовки и отображения шрифтов, который не зависит от картинок.

In the text found "msgstr[0]". How I am understood, it indicating numbers. In Tatar language the words are not changes from numbers. Can I to not write "msgstr[1]...[3]"?
Second question: what means lines 2348-2373 ("msgid "Right thumb right" ... msgid "Right thumb up"")? What is the keys? What is it "thumb"?
And third question: where me send the Tatar language file after translating?

1. if no plural form is needed in tatar, just translate msgstr[0] should be enough

2.it's a gamepad button

Transifex knows how many plural forms each language has.

You can also use Virtaal or Poedit - both are free, and better than working with a pure text editor.
