My suggestions

Hi, I was interested with STK.
But I want to give 3 suggestions, can you add a Mario Kart 8-style anti-gravity mechanism in the next release of SuperTuxKart?
Also, maybe you can redesign the logo to make it looks similar to the recent Mario Kart logo? Make it more glossy and bold. I like the current logo, but you may want to give some metallic effect to the logo?
And one more, can you redesign the menu layout to make it more simpler, something like in Mario Kart 8?

Hello tetriser016 and welcome in STK's forum
I have read your post and basically you want a clone of Mario Kart. So why don't you simply buy mario kart 8. Because if we try to reproduce mario kart the result will be probably bad.
Our goal is to make an original Go kart arcade racing game rather than a pure clone. STK menu is pretty descent. We might need to clean it a bit, but it's mainly details. The main layout is pretty good IMHO.
If someone want to try to redesign the logo, why not but we will choose something that is STKish not MKish. We like to be original and we want to avoid any confusion with mk or other similar games.
About anti gravity we might use in the future something similar called magnetic sections. We have done some tests with that.

Also, just to add one thing; next release will indeed likely contain anti-gravity since there was recent work on that

@samuncle - Thanks for the info.
But I doesn't have a Wii U, so I can't play that game.
Also, I can't wait for the anti-gravity feature in the next release.

Hi,
tbh, a menu that looked a bit more cool would be nice. But of course, our menu is already quite full with more options than MK has, leaving less space to 'waste' with the graphics.

Not entirely sure what you expect, what we _might_ include in our next release (not sure yet) is that karts can drive on wall or ceiling in specific track sections.
Cheers,
Joerg

STK is closer to DiddyKongRacing on the N64, with a few elements from MK64 and a lot of its own. IMHO- The menu is already easy to navigate. The GIT/SVN has a driving on walls kinda thing-- IMNSHO, it doesn't add much to the game. I play MK8 a lot, and don't want STK to be a clone

Don't worry. I think nobody in the core dev team wants to make a MK clone. Our objective is to make something original and hopefully fun.

Good to hear that, @samuncle.
It's not good to make a clone of existing popular game, I've think carefully that I just want only the anti-gravity features from MK8 only.
Maybe the STK team can make some gravity-based tracks, but not me because I play STK on a non-OpenGL3 netbook. So I can't use Blender to make my own tracks as the UI of Blender is scattered as it powered with OpenGL 3 (I think).

@tetriser016 I was using Blender on my old laptop with OpenGL 2.1 and it was fine. You only won't be able to test how it looks with new STK graphics engine.

I just made some observations to the anti-gravity feature in MK8, actually the feature was based on the physics in F-Zero X for Nintendo 64 and F-Zero GX for the Nintendo GameCube, made by the same company which made MK8.
Do you'll accept my thoughts?
