Best way to work with cloned objects in tracks?

If a track has multiple objects that share the same mesh, should they all be flagged to use (the same) separate models?

For example, in my temple track, all the starting platforms are clones of each other in Blender. If I set their types to "Object", I could have them all use the same model, thereby (slightly) reducing the track's size. But this would also complicate the scene and the track files, making it easier to mess something up.

What do you think is the best approach for dealing with these objects?

Hi, in general the preferred way is to create library objects. This is a relatively new feature and it's not documented yet I'm afraid, but samuncle could show you. You can also explore library objects in the media repo

Thanks for the reply, but I was thinking of objects whose usefulness are almost certainly limited to one track. Putting these objects in the library wouldn't have any size advantage over making them objects in the track itself, and it would clutter the library.
