I'm not sure that the dropdown lists for checklines and drivelines have ever actually worked; I've always typed the names in manually.
Also, I don't think the latest scripts from the media repository are compatible with Supertuxkart 0.8.1. Try the ones from the
zip archive instead.

Are you still on Blender 2.63? That version is over two years old, so it might be possible that an update to the scripts broke compatibility with it.
It might also be helpful to check the exported files, making sure that they're all there and formatted correctly.

I use Blender 2.68 with the scripts from the zip archive to make tracks for STK 0.8.1, and 2.71 with the latest scripts from the media repository whenever I want to test a track in the development version.
