How to race with only gamepads (no keyboard)?

How do I race STK without using a keyboard?

We obviously need the keyboard for non-racing, but I can find no way to tell STK that the 1st player is using a gamepad. I can't remove the keyboard, I can't remap the player to a gamepad...I can't change it at all.

Is the keyboard hard-wired into the game so we're stuck with a keyboard whether we want it or not? Does this require a new fame feature so we can play STK without a keyboard?

Hi,
When you are selecting karts for a race, just use the gamepad controls to select it. You will then use the gamepad for the race. Make sure the gamepad is showing up in STK's device list and that you have put in the keys you want to control the kart. Menu controls are usually the controls set for Forward, Reverse, Left, Right and Fire. Or simply use the mouse to go through the list of karts, put the pointer over the kart you want to use and press whatever button you have set to "Fire", this should select your kart. You can then use the mouse to select the race type, number of players and racetrack. Hope this helps!
