A few Bugs in SVN-Version (23.5.13)

A few Bugs in SVN-Version (23.5.13)

Postby Freddy1404 » 25 May 2013, 18:23

Hi, I want to to report some Bugs, which I found in the current SVN-Version of Supertuxkart.

1. In Multiplayer (with 2 people): When someone falls in the water in the track "Old Shifting Sands" the cam of the second player won't move anymore until the first player is recovered.
2. You can't play soccer on one keyboard, because you can't choose the team of the second player - you must hit "Enter" for the first one but the second? You can't click the "Next"-Button.
3. If you are playing "Follow the Leader" in Multiplayer and the leader falls down the ramp to the pyramid in "Old Shifting Sands", there is just chaos on hitting the others, driving back, falling down. Sometimes one "real" player can't see the track anymore; it seems like someone is IN your car and it becames grey after some time (I can make a Screenshot if wanted)

Yeah, that's it!

It's a great game and the higher the version the greater it is!!!! Love it!!

Yours,
Freddy

hi,

1) I am unable to reproduce this issue, it works for me, so I am not sure what to do.

2) soccer mode is not finished yet, so issues are to be expected

3) hmm not sure what to do about that. Joerg, any ideas? If the leader falls off then I think it will be hard to avoid chaos

I experienced issue (1) on the Scottish track on SVN from 15/04/13 but forgot about it. I was doing 4-player & whenever one player drove off the track all the players' cameras would stop following them & wouldn't resume until the driver that crashed was reset back on the track. For information; the player setup would have been 3 USB gamepads (2 same, one different) & one on the keyboard.
Another thing I've just remembered now is that going over the wooden bridge on the Mexico-ish track on that SVN version slowed the cars down massively, as if they were getting stuck in treacle.

I also experience issue (1). It happens on every track where the camera is supposed to "watch you falling" into a pit (when Falling Effect is checked in Blender). It seems that when the first player gets this effect, the second gets it too, and also the other way round.

I noticed that the end camera also behaves strangely sometimes when doing multiplayer, but I am not sure why and when this happens.

Should I open a ticket?

Edit: here is a video showing the camera behaviour. Sorry for the bad driving, it is really difficult to steer two karts simultaneously :D

That is a problem indeed. Ideally no kart could fall down anywhere without being rescued (i.e. there should either be a fence or so on the sides preventing the fall, or a biiiig gaping hole making it obvious that the kart will be rescued). This would make the game a leot more

I'd assume that this happens rarely enough so we can ignore it, but suggestions are welcome.

Cheers,

Thanks for the report, I've fixed that in r12800 - thanks for the report!
