I have problems applying fullscreen mode in STK 0.8 - see the image below:

my Desktop-Resolution is 1920x1080 - on my old pc everything worked well but on a resolution of 1200x800 - but even if i change the current resolution into a lower one, it won't work...

can anybody help out? -THX

Do you see any error or warning messages on the console (the text window)? I have used STK in fullscreen on this kind of resolution, though not on windows.

What are the details of your system (esp. memory and graphics card).

indeed there is an error msg on the console - it look like this:

so actually the game works fine but the fullscreen mode doesn't work

specs of my system:
intel core i7 (2,4ghz)
nvidia gtx660m
8gb ram
...
I reckon the system should be able to cope with that game!
when i change the resolution to anything smaller than 1920x1080 the wohle screen looks like this:

maybe it has to do with the problem that even a flashmovie (e.g. youtube) can't be displayed in fullscreen properly, cause i will always see the windows task bar (see this link: https://www.dropbox.com/s/qqt9xd0npsg2d ... outube.jpg)

any idea why fullscreen-mode in STK doesn't work properly?

Don't know why that 1024x640 appeared there, it is the same here on linux and i don't have it . I know i can recalculated it (or any other) with cvt or gtf and add it to xrandr or xorg.conf, that way fullscreen will work of course if driver is smart enough (don't know what is the same trick for windows) , but don't want to do it... it is not even a standard display resolution . Maybe it is "standard" on some kind of niche devices, but who knows

One thing you should know is also, if a resolution is understandible by a driver it will be in aligned in that row - it will not be lasted in a row .

I already tried to change the resoultion in the config-file but without any success - any other ideas?
no fullscreen = no atmospheare = no super tuxkart anymore - hope somebody can help out ?!?

That's surprising, considering you're using Windows and a very recent hardware...
Did you try to update to the latest NVIDIA drivers? Maybe the stock drivers that came with your PC have bad OpenGL support?

the drivers are already updated to the latest version, so that shouldn't be the problem - maybe I am just going to reinstall it and then see if it's the same problem... thanks so far

I reinstalled the game, deleted the config an everything - the drivers are up to date everything should work fine, but fullscreen still doesn't work so I reckon I have to live with it...
maybe there is somebody else who is facing problems with fullscreen mode and similar hardware (nvidia gtx660m)??

Then this is likely a driver issue, about which we can't do very much. Considering the odd resolutions you see I wouldn't be surprised (as you have mentioned) that it is related to the taskbar. Also - is this a multi-screen setup? If so, perhaps try using only a single screen.

I have basically the same windows 7 version (though build 1601 - which I think is one service pack?), and it works for me (though on a laptop with 1280x800 only), and I don't have any problems with the task bar. Perhaps you can try to disable the taskbar and see if this makes a difference?

There doesn't appear much we can do about this problem, it's either an irrlicht problem or a driver/windows issue. Perhaps you could try another irrlicht program - the library comes with examples precompiled and 1 or 2 of them come with a fullscreen option. Just try starting the Demo in irrlicht-1.8/bin/Win32-VisualStudio, select fullscreen, and see what happens when you press start.

The Demo.exe works fine without a problem in fullscreen mode, apart from the 4:3 resolution, which doesn't fit my screen - does this indicate, that the problem might be triggered by the windows taskbar issue?

edit: disabling the windows taskbar (by hiding it) didn't make any difference
