I've noticed that the track Green Valley starts lagging like crazy after the first bend. I've submitted a bug here to bugtracker with more information.

What do you mean? Boring? Try it:

In reverse with 3 AIs in the hardest mode... and try to go on the bumpy path.

Maybe it could do with more pick-ups...

Thank you Charlie. I didn't mean that it was boring. I meant that the screen starts to stutter and the game runs at maybe 2 frames per second.

Is it only green valley? Or are other tracks slow too? This may just be a GPU/driver limitation unfortunately

It's just Green Valley. I finished every single challenge except the ones involving Green Valley because it wasn't possible to race on that track.

I'm sorry, I have no idea why. Green valley doesn't have that many polygons (shiny suburbs has as many) or large textures so I really don't see what could make it so slow in particular. Just in case, have you tried at the lowest quality setting?

Sometimes it happens the same to me, before arriving at the bumpy track begins to catch, I pause the game and then come back to the game and to hang.
Maybe that works for you.

Ps: Sorry for my bad English.

Do the AIs do anything right before it happens?

Do you see any water?

^ just because flash is a nasty system resource gobbler?

I have identified the problem.I turned off graphic details, music and sfx and the track ran smoothly. When I turned on music, it still ran smoothly.

When I turn on sfx it runs less smoothly but I am still able to play (it was measured as 15fps). When I pass the bend that I wrote about earlier, that is when the fps becomes drastically low and the warning messages start flashing at the same interval as the framerate.

I still find it somewhat odd with such a beefy machine. I did a search and it seems that your laptop has Intel HD 3000 integrated graphics, which isn't the best, but should be adequate for most tracks. But I'm not sure if there is much to do about it other than what you've already done (short of trying to reduce graphical details in the track itself, which I'm not sure is a good option).

My laptop has two GPUs, one nvidia, but the other is an Intel HD 3000. And STK is fully playable for me on Intel HD 3000. So I'm afraid I don't know what's different for you
